Our water focus covers the management of drinking water, wastewater, stormwater, and groundwater as a collective resource. Dams and hydropower are a key focus, driving resilience and renewable energy solutions. We are looking for a geospatial professional who will be responsible for leading and advancing GIS (Geographic Information Systems) work that supports our water infrastructure projects and services.

This role goes beyond doing routine mapping — it combines technical leadership, project oversight, client engagement, and strategic development of spatial solutions that help water teams deliver projects more effectively.

Day to day tasks include;

Lead and deliver GIS services across multidisciplinary infrastructure projects, providing high-quality spatial analysis and mapping aligned with project objectives.

Administer and optimise enterprise GIS platforms (ArcGIS Online and Enterprise/Portal), including configuration, user management, content governance, and troubleshooting in coordination with IT and technology teams.

Develop interactive web GIS applications and digital tools to support field data collection, stakeholder engagement, collaboration, and spatial decision making.

Design, manage, and integrate geospatial databases and systems with BIM, CDEs, and other digital engineering platforms to enable efficient, data driven project delivery.

Streamline and automate GIS workflows using tools such as FME, Python, and Power Automate to improve consistency, quality, and efficiency.

Plan and oversee GIS components of projects, including scoping, effort estimation, coordination, and quality assurance.

Mentor junior staff and provide technical leadership, fostering best practices and continuous improvement across GIS processes.

Collaborate with clients and internal teams to define requirements, resolve technical challenges, and deliver fit-for-purpose geospatial solutions.

Support business development and digital strategy initiatives, including proposal development, Digital Execution Plans, and alignment with organisational quality and safety standards.

What you’ll bring:

Tertiary qualification in Geology, Geography, Engineering, Computer Science or other relevant discipline

8 years’ experience, ideally in a consulting environment

Extensive experience working with GIS Platforms

Solid knowledge and experience in database design and development, with knowledge of SQL/SQL databases, FME and Python preferred but not a requirement

UI, UX, design experience

Solid track record of strong organisational skills in planning, conducting and coordinating complex projects.
