The MNIT BWSR team supports technology critical to preventing sediment and nutrients from entering Minnesota lakes, rivers, and streams; enhancing fish and wildlife habitat; and protecting wetlands.
Job Summary
MNIT BWSR is seeking an experienced ITS3 Angular Developer to support the design, development, and maintenance of modern web applications that serve Minnesotans. This role is ideal for a front-end developer with strong Angular expertise and a passion for building accessible, responsive, and user-centered digital services.
As part of a collaborative Agile team, you will contribute to the development of scalable applications using Angular, TypeScript, and modern web technologies. You will work closely with UX designers, backend developers, and business stakeholders to deliver high-quality solutions that align with state standards and meet the needs of diverse users.
This position requires an employee to be onsite at 520 Lafayette Rd, Minnesota at least 50% of the time, with some opportunity to perform work from a telework location. Telework for Minnesota IT Services is available on a limited basis. Employees will be required to meet current telework eligibility requirements.

Position requires a minimum of three (3) years of IT related experience in Angular, UI/UX design and Angular CLI, modular architecture, and lazy loading.
Experience must include:
Understanding of Typescript, RxJS, and Reactive Forms, experience in HTML5, CSS/SCSS, and JavaScript (ES6+).
RESTful APIs and JSON - integrations.
Responsive and cross-browser design principles
Experience with GIT
Working in an Agile ‘custom development’ environment with demonstrated understanding of software development lifecycle.
Ability to deliver effective verbal or written messages that facilitate a mutual understanding on both parties.
Customer service skills that include active listening, empathy, and problem-solving.
A master’s degree in Information Technology or an IT related field substitutes for three (3) years of experience, OR an IT related bachelor’s degree substitutes for two (2) years, OR an IT related associate’s degree substitutes for one (1) year.
Preferred Qualifications
Four (4) or more years of hands-on experience with Angular, UI/UX design and Agular CLI, modular architecture, and lazy loading.
Strong understanding Typescript, RxJS, and Reactive Forms, experience in HTML5, CSS/SCSS, and JavaScript (ES6+
Demonstrated experience with IIS-hosted Angular deployments and enterprise build CI/CD pipelines.
Demonstrated experience in Oracle database structures and large-scale data integration patterns.
Experience with accessibility and security in a custom development environment.
Understanding of GIS or broader geospatial concepts, including map-based data visualization and spatial analytics.
Demonstrated experience of Unit testing and documentation for code review.
Excellent communication, project planning, and problem-solving skills.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively across diverse teams.
