DevOps Engineer (f/m/d)

Location: Remote or Hybrid (Germany)

At Smoothr, we’re building the digital backbone of tomorrow’s quick service restaurants – from self-ordering kiosks and mobile ordering to Drive-In AI and integrated payment solutions. To support our growth and ensure rock-solid system performance, we’re looking for an experienced DevOps Engineer to join our team.

YOUR ROLE

You will take ownership of our cloud infrastructure and work closely with our development teams to ensure stability, scalability, and efficiency across all systems:

Design, operate, and evolve our hybrid cloud infrastructure (GCP \& Hetzner Cloud)

Automate deployments, provisioning, and configuration using Infrastructure-as-Code (Terraform; Ansible is a plus)

Manage container orchestration with Kubernetes

Develop and maintain CI/CD pipelines (GitLab CI/CD, Google Cloud Build)

Ensure system stability, high availability, and scalability of our services

Collaborate with engineering teams on:

Release processes

Bug analysis and troubleshooting

Performance tuning

Contribute to security concepts, backup strategies, and disaster recovery planning

Support the setup of pre-release and testing environments

Document infrastructure, standards, and operational processes

YOUR PROFILE

4–5+ years of professional experience in Cloud Infrastructure / DevOps

Deep understanding of cloud-native applications and cloud computing principles

Hands-on experience with Kubernetes in production environments

Solid background in Infrastructure-as-Code, especially Terraform (Ansible is a plus)

Familiarity with CI/CD tools, ideally GitLab CI/CD and Google Cloud Build

Strong analytical mindset and problem-solving attitude

Excellent communication and collaboration skills in technical environments

Fluent in English; German is a plus but not required
