The Opportunity
We're seeking a
Senior Data Engineer
with strong JavaScript and web development expertise who thrives on independent client ownership and solving complex customer data challenges. In this role, you'll serve as the primary technical point of contact for enterprise clients, architecting and delivering scalable CDP and marketing technology solutions that drive measurable business outcomes.
This role requires deep technical skills that go beyond CDP platform configuration. You'll be writing custom JavaScript for Tealium extensions, Segment functions, and data layer implementations. You'll integrate tracking into complex production applications built with React, Angular, Next.js, and React Native. If you're a strong JavaScript developer with experience in marketing technology, analytics, or data engineering - and you're ready to own strategic technical consulting work with minimal oversight - this role is your next step.
Critical requirement
: We need someone who can code, not just configure. If your CDP experience is primarily UI-based without substantial JavaScript development work, this role isn't the right fit.
What You'll Own
Client Relationships
: Serve as the trusted technical advisor for enterprise accounts. Lead discovery workshops, present solutions to C-level stakeholders, and build long-term partnerships based on exceptional delivery. You'll own the relationship, not just support it.
Solution Architecture
: Design end-to-end customer data platform architectures across complex MarTech ecosystems. Make technology selection decisions, define integration patterns, create technical roadmaps, and ensure scalability and maintainability from day one.
Platform Deployment
: Lead full-lifecycle CDP implementations across Tealium (EventStream, AudienceStream, iQ), Twilio Segment, Braze, Customer.io, and HubSpot. You'll architect data flows, implement identity resolution strategies, build audience segmentation logic, and integrate with data warehouses (Snowflake, BigQuery).
Data Engineering
: Build scalable data pipelines connecting CDPs with marketing automation, CRM systems, analytics platforms, and cloud data warehouses. Design data models, optimise query performance, and establish data quality frameworks that support marketing operations at scale.
Technical Leadership
: Mentor junior engineers, establish technical standards, contribute to practice development, and participate in business development activities. Your expertise will shape our capabilities and client offerings.
Who You Are
Experience \& Technical Depth
:
5+ years designing and delivering data solutions in marketing technology, customer data platforms, or analytics domains
Proven track record independently owning technical client engagements with enterprise organisations
Hands-on expertise with
at least one major CDP platform
(Tealium, Segment, Adobe Real-Time CDP, Salesforce CDP) including full deployment capability - not just basic configuration
Strong data engineering foundation: SQL mastery (data modelling, query optimisation, dimensional design), Python or JavaScript, modern data stack experience
Experience with
cloud data warehouses
(Snowflake and/or BigQuery) including data pipeline architecture and integration patterns
Track record implementing marketing technology integrations: Braze, Customer.io, HubSpot, or similar platforms
Client-Facing Excellence

Exceptional communication skills - you translate technical complexity into business value for executives and technical teams alike
Proven ability to lead client workshops, requirements gathering, and technical presentations
Experience building trusted advisor relationships with client stakeholders
Comfortable navigating ambiguity and managing client expectations through complex projects

API development and integration experience
Understanding of privacy regulations (GDPR, CCPA) and consent management
Mobile SDK implementation experience (iOS, Android)
Consulting or agency background with multiple client delivery experience
