Job Description:

Reporting to the Director, Data and Analytics, the Senior Data Analyst will be responsible for the development and delivery of analytical solutions, use cases and insights for the Sun Life High Net Worth data journey and future growth. As a member of the Data and Analytics team, the Senior Data Analyst is integral to the success of the team. The Senior Data Analyst partners closely with business partners to understand the business and their needs, and leverages data (internal and external) to provide high impact analytics and insights to accelerate data driven business decisions. The role is responsible for supporting business process innovation, leads the analysis and documentation of business requirements and maintains a portfolio of data and analytics initiatives across Sun Life High Net Worth.

What You Will Be Doing

Lead sessions with the business to gather requirements and get signoff

Produce and maintain business requirements documentation, source to target mappings and other data \& analytics related documentation

Translate business requirements into data and reporting solutions

Develop, prioritize and sequence use cases with business stakeholders, and a portfolio of initiatives for the Data and Analytics team

Build and maintain strong internal network at all levels of the organization, relationships with other counterparts within the organization

Work with stakeholders to draw business insights from analytical outputs, and communicate recommendations and data insights

Establish automated reporting on key performance metrics (KPIs) and scorecard metrics using Tableau

Ensure all data solutions are standardized, reliable and resilient through robust testing and documentation

Collaborate with IT to ensure data ecosystem meets business and analytical needs

Use statistical methods to interpret data and provide actionable insights

Become a data subject matter expert by working with technology and business partners across the organization

Identify and implement ways to increase user knowledge and the value they derive from dashboards

Assist with ad hoc data analysis as required to support high priority needs

Who You Will Be Working With

This role is multi-faceted, involving collaboration across various regions, including Ireland, Canada, Singapore, Bermuda, Hong Kong and the US. The successful candidate will work closely with multiple Sun Life High Net Worth teams and leaders across main functions, such as Strategic Delivery, Technology, Product Development, Operations, Finance, Actuarial, Risk, and Compliance. This position requires a versatile and adaptable individual who can navigate the diverse needs and perspectives of stakeholders in different countries and functions to drive the organization's data and analytics objectives.

What We Are Looking For

The successful candidate will be required to work a modified shift schedule to ensure effective collaboration and communication with team members in Singapore, Ireland and Canada. This may include early morning or evening hours to accommodate time zone differences and maximize overlap with international working hours. Flexibility and willingness to adjust working hours as needed are essential for this role.

5+ years of work experience in a Data Analytics role

Bachelor’s degree in mathematics, statistics, engineering or a related field

Experience writing complex SQL queries to analyze data and provide results to business users or stakeholders

Comfortable learning new applications and processes quickly with minimal direction

Experience using oral and written communication to share data driven insights in a clear, succinct manner

Strong partnering approach with a commitment to meeting business partners' needs and expectations.

Data visualization / dashboarding with Tableau

Data analysis / visualization using MS Excel

Proficiency with other programming languages such as Python, R

Strong problem solving and critical thinking abilities. Attention to detail and commitment to data accuracy.

Able to exercise judgement, set priorities, assess urgency and provide assessment based on data and analytical reasoning

This position may require occasional international travel to support global initiatives, attend meetings, or collaborate with international teams. The successful candidate should be willing and able to travel internationally as needed, which may involve trips lasting several days to a week or more. A valid passport and ability to obtain necessary visas are essential.
