Job Description

đŸŽ€ Who we are:

Swat.io is a

Software-as-a-Service product

that supports marketers in

Social Media Publishing and Community Management

. We are proud to be an

independent

,

self-financed

,

product-led company

,

focused on building a product that users actually love. We follow a self-service-first approach and intentionally avoid aggressive sales tactics, putting user experience and value at the center of everything we do.

We’re a small, dynamic, and at the same time stable company with

more than 15 years of bootstrapped success.

Things move fast here, and good ideas don’t get stuck in meetings. They get heard and turned into action. Around

50 people

from different backgrounds work together in a lean, agile way, with a lot of trust and personal responsibility.

We’re an ambitious team with big goals and a strong focus on

sustainable growth

. We aim to become one of the top 1% of SaaS companies with

over €10 million in ARR

. Guided by our values:

We add value, We drive progress, We own it, We thrive together

, we put

quality over quantity

. We believe that

revenue follows quality, not the other way around.

🩄 Who you are:

You’ll join our

Product Team

and will be working side-by-side with experienced

UX/UI designers

and another

Senior Product Manager

. You have a strong

user-first mindset

and are always

**asking

why

before jumping into

what**

.

You are also comfortable reading API docs, reasoning about data schemas, and debating technical trade‑offs with our Engineering Team. You’re quick to

adapt and adjust

,

confident in making decisions

without all the answers, and

driven by impact

rather than process for the sake of it.

You’ll play a key role in ensuring our product continues to excel by

understanding user needs

, bringing a

strong understanding of how to shape meaningful AI functionality

, and

collaborating with our developers

to build valuable features.

You care deeply about

user experience, challenge assumptions

when needed, and know how to

move things forward

without getting stuck in the details. Your

technical mindset

and

strong opinions

help you hold your ground while staying open to better ways of doing things.

🙅 Who you are not:

This isn’t a role for someone early in their product career or looking to move into leadership soon. If you prefer clear roadmaps handed to you or don’t enjoy working things out yourself with a team, this might not be a good fit. Same if you avoid decisions or struggle when things change quickly. We’re not looking for someone who just keeps the backlog tidy or takes orders. We need someone thoughtful, proactive, and ready to take real responsibility for what we ship and why.

💡Purpose of the role:

You’ll bring

direction

,

structure

, and

focus

. Your job is to turn ideas into real things, fully

leading cross-functional projects

from start to finish and making sure nothing gets stuck in endless discussions. You’ll also translate requirements of

modern AI user flows

into actionable work that uses technology to create real value for our end users. You’ll keep everyone

aligned and moving forward

, ensuring we

build what truly matters

. Our Head of Product combines a strong engineering background with strategic product thinking, driving our product vision. He relies on strong PO/PMs like you to drive and execute the product vision.

That will also include:

Supporting the team in

planning and prioritizing

work that aligns with strategy and reality.

Clarifying API needs and applying it to modern concepts like MCP servers.

Translating complex requirements into

clear specs

that make sense to everyone.

Balancing

long-term

roadmap goals

with short-term

opportunities, reacting to unexpected changes (like API changes or emerging Social Media platforms)

Working across a

broad product scope

, from publisher to inbox and beyond, while dealing with platform limitations and finding the right trade-offs

Pairing with designers

early on to explore problems and define solid solutions

Collaborating

closely with skilled and opinionated developers

who value thoughtful input, to enable the development of value-adding features.

Making sure

Sales and Marketing have what they need to talk to customers

and win them over. You can provide technically accurate messaging about limitations, supported integrations, and known edge cases.

We expect you to:

Actively shape how we work

by bringing in ideas to improve collaboration, prioritization, and focus right from the beginning

Take

full ownership of major product initiatives

, lead them from discovery to delivery, and ship meaningful projects within your first few months

Make data-informed decisions

: monitoring feature adoption and trends, challenging assumptions, deriving improvement potentials, and always asking "why" before we build. Make data‑ and architecture‑informed decisions, validating assumptions with logs, metrics, and experiment results.

🩾 Are you ready for this?

We define ready as

You have at least 5+ years of experience as a

Product Manager or a Product Owner of SaaS products

and successfully owned and delivered complex product initiatives end-to-end

You bring prior experience working in a software engineering, QA, or comparable

technical role before transitioning into Product Management

.

You can read and reason about API docs, OAuth flows, webhooks, pagination, and rate limiting.

You have used tools like Amplitude, Mixpanel or Posthog before and understand how collected data can be used to validate a feature

You’ve worked on building

AI-powered product features

and understand the full development cycle from selecting the right models and designing prompts to delivering a smooth, valuable experience for users.

AI

is part of your toolbelt

in your daily work

(analysing data, writing prompts, optimizing how you work).

You

understand software development processes

and how to work with engineers

You

prioritize backlogs, allocate resources

, and

manage multiple projects

without losing focus

You think in iterations,

breaking big ideas into manageable steps

, and are

pragmatic

about

what to build and when

, focused on purpose over perfection

You know how to

collect and read the data

to guide decisions and spot opportunities for improvement or growth.

You bring fresh,

user-first ideas

and

stay curious

about new tools, trends, and competitors.

You

have an opinion

and aren’t afraid to speak up, but you are also open to

challenge

and better

arguments

.

You are experienced in working with different stakeholders and navigating shifting requirements.

You understand modern product management practices and

aren’t afraid to dive into new technologies

or unfamiliar problems (think: AI, Social Media platform shifts, unexpected API changes).

You're fluent in English and confident in communicating your ideas, decisions, and reasoning across teams.

Nice-to-haves:

German language skills

Technical understanding/technical background

Experience with social media platforms and SaaS products
