Our challenge
We are seeking a talented and experienced Senior Core Java Developer to join our banking technology team. The ideal candidate will have expertise in core Java, multithreading, data structures, server-side development, concurrency, collections, database management, SQL, REST API development, and a strong understanding of banking domain processes.
Additional Information*
The base salary for this position will vary based on geography and other factors. In accordance with law, the base salary for this role if filled within Toronto, ON is CAD $110k – CAD $120k/year \& benefits (see below).
The Role
Responsibilities:
Design, develop, and optimize high-performance Java applications for banking operations.
Implement multithreading and concurrency control to build scalable and reliable systems.
Work with data structures and algorithms to enhance application efficiency.
Develop and maintain server-side components and RESTful APIs to facilitate secure banking transactions.
Integrate with databases using SQL and ensure efficient data retrieval and storage.
Collaborate with analysts and product teams to gather requirements and translate them into technical solutions.
Conduct code reviews, ensure best practices, and mentor junior team members.
Maintain high standards of security, performance, and availability in all deliverables.
Requirements:
Hardworking, dedicated, detail oriented, focused on quality and a team player, with effective verbal and written communications.
9+ years of hands-on coding in server-side Java with strong emphasis on Java Concurrency, RX Streams, Caching (GridGain as Cache), Collections API, Messaging and Event processing across
Strong experience in Core Java programming.
Solid knowledge of multithreading, concurrency, and synchronization.
Proficiency in data structures and algorithms.
Extensive experience in server-side development and REST API design.
Hands-on experience with relational databases and SQL.
Knowledge of Java Collections Framework.
Familiarity with banking and financial domain processes and compliance standards.
Good problem-solving skills and analytical thinking.
Excellent communication and collaborative skills.
Preferred, but not required:
Prior experience in banking or financial services is highly preferred.
Capable of managing \& leading people and delivery.
