Staff Software Engineering Lead

Our client is building an AI-native SaaS platform transforming the way engineers design and build complex systems.. We are looking for a Staff / Senior Staff Software Engineer to launch and lead their new Toronto engineering team.
You’ll be the technical lead for a multidisciplinary team across frontend, backend, data platforms, ML infrastructure, and developer tooling. Working closely with the VP of Software and Silicon Valley engineers, you’ll build scalable systems, recruit top talent, and define the technical culture for the Toronto office. This role can grow into a Site Lead or Engineering Manager within 12–24 months.
Requirements:
10+ years software engineering, 3+ years in leadership needed.
Cloud-native SaaS experience (microservices, data platforms, or developer tools)
Expertise in at least two: backend, frontend, IDE/devtools, ML/AI platforms
Strong mentorship and collaboration skills
