Tanco Autowrap Ltd, located in Bagenalstown, Co. Carlow, has established a reputation as the global leader in agricultural bale wrapping machinery. With a network of distributors in over 35 countries and growing the company is well positioned to expand its market share and continue to develop its products and services.
We are currently seeking to recruit a Software Engineer who will become part of our product development team, this is a full-time position with an excellent remuneration package. The successful candidate will gain experience in the new product development processes, and this role provides an excellent introduction to practical mechanical design for graduates seeking a role in this area.
Main areas of responsibility will be as follows:
Perform research actives for new R\&D projects and document findings within JIRA application.
Continue development the next generation of control systems used throughout product range
Work with product development team to troubleshoot in field software issues
Develop software to deliver improved functionality and reliability to products
Debug, update and test new software releases
Process new software releases via Git-hub repositories
Provide production support as required
Assist customer support engineers with in-filed issues relating to product control systems
Assist in the design and development of electrical control systems and liaise with relevant vendors to help deliver solutions in a timely manner.
Repair damaged or faulty controllers returned from customers where possible
Assist in the development of test programs for new projects
Assist in design verification and validation activities
Design and build harnessing for prototype machines
Work with purchasing department and vendors to source new components and harnessing solutions
Provide training and technical support to production as required
Education \& Experience Required:
Level 8 degree in a technical, science or engineering discipline within any of the following areas: Software Engineering, IT, Computer Science, Maths, Electronics.
Ability to code in C programming, Java, python, ST (Structured Text) and SFC (Sequence Flow Chart) an advantage but training and support will be provided.

You will be based at the company’s head office at Royal Oak Road, Bagenalstown, Co. Carlow but may be required to work or train at other locations as reasonably determined by the needs of the business.
