Job Title: AWS Data Engineer

Location:

Sydney, Australia

Key Responsibilities:

Design and implement robust data pipelines using AWS services such as

EC2, EMR, S3, Redshift, IAM, Glue, RDS/Aurora, Athena

, and

VPC

.

Develop and maintain ETL workflows using

AWS Glue

and

Python

.

Optimize data storage and retrieval strategies across

S3, Redshift

, and

RDS/Aurora

.

Collaborate with data scientists and analysts to support data-driven decision-making.

Ensure data security and compliance using

IAM roles and policies

.

Monitor and troubleshoot data pipeline performance and reliability.

Work with

Hadoop, Spark, Scala, and Hive

to process large-scale datasets.

Required Skills \& Qualifications:

Strong programming skills in

Python

.

Hands-on experience with AWS services:

EC2, EMR, S3, Redshift, IAM, Glue, RDS/Aurora, Athena, VPC

.

Proficiency in big data technologies:

Hadoop, Spark, Scala, Hive

.

Experience with data modeling, warehousing, and performance tuning.

Familiarity with cloud networking concepts (VPC, subnets, security groups).

Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.

Preferred Qualifications:

AWS certification (e.g., AWS Certified Data Analytics – Specialty).

Experience with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices.

Exposure to data governance and compliance frameworks.
