Our client's software team is seeking broad, curious engineers to join our diverse, full-stack team. In addition to holistically designing, building, and delivering end-to-end robotic systems, our team is responsible for the core infrastructure and tools that serve as the backbone of our robotic applications, enabling roboticists, machine learning scientists, and software engineers to collaborate and deploy systems in the lab and in the field. Our work spans real-time software, machine learning engineering, big data, simulation, and more.

Key Job Responsibilities

Architect, design, and implement AWS deployment pipelines using CDK, CloudFormation, Lambda, and automation.

Design, build, and maintain data visualization platforms and analytics infrastructure for robotic system debugging and operations.

Build and maintain Python packages for data analysis, deployment automation, and operational tooling with proper dependency management.

Create robust, high-quality, well-tested software infrastructure and developer tools.

Work with stakeholders across hardware, science, and operations teams to iterate on systems design and implementation.

Collaborate with machine learning and robotic controls experts to implement and deploy algorithms and models.

Profile, tune, and optimize AWS infrastructure and system performance.

Troubleshoot and resolve production deployment issues with fast turnaround.

Create re-usable software and systems to accelerate robotics development.

Maintain high standards by participating in reviews, designing for fault tolerance and operational excellence, and creating mechanisms for continuous improvement.

Proactively manage technical debt and balance feature work with infrastructure improvements.

Basic Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree or greater in Computer Science/Engineering, Statistics, Mathematics, or equivalent.

3+ years of professional software development experience.

Strong AWS infrastructure experience with CDK, Lambda, CloudFormation, and deployment automation pipelines.

Experience building and maintaining data visualization platforms or analytics dashboards.

Proficiency with Python including package management and shipping packages in enterprise environments.

Experience with contributing to the architecture and design (architecture, design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and current systems.

Experience with at least one modern language such as Python, Kotlin, or C++.

Proficiency with professional software engineering practices \& best practices for the full software life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations.

Demonstrated ability to ship features on time with accurate estimation and work independently with minimal guidance.

Preferred Qualifications

Master's or PhD in Computer Science/Engineering, Statistics, Mathematics, or equivalent.

Experience with AWS services and multi-account AWS architecture.

Experience in one or more relevant technical areas: robotics, computer vision, machine learning, sensors, real-time systems, embedded systems, distributed systems, simulation, high-performance scientific computing, or building infrastructure for engineering/science users.

Experience building data pipelines, data lakes, or analytics platforms with tools like Spark, EMR, Athena, or Grafana.

Expertise building and testing real-time or safety-critical systems, such as aerospace, automotive, or medical devices.

Experience with interdisciplinary developments that involve hardware, software, and algorithm co-design.

Experience supporting large-scale infrastructure and tool development for scientific/engineering users.

Solid fundamentals in operating systems, embedded systems, or systems programming.

Demonstrable experience in building, programming and integrating software and hardware for robotic systems.

Demonstrated experience incubating and productionizing new technology quickly, working closely with research scientists and technical teams from idea generation through implementation.

Proven track record of consistent delivery velocity and proactive technical debt management.

Experience working with distributed teams across time zones with strong written and verbal communication skills.
