Engineering Manager

Teck Global Pty Ltd is in need of an Engineering Manager.

The position is a full-time one (minimum of 40 hours per week) and will be remunerated between $180,000 to $200,000 (commensurate with work experience and skill) + superannuation.

Position Overview:

· Design of electrical system and equipment as required for all project areas or facilities.

· Developing the project deliverables in accordance with the baseline schedule and budget.

· Overseeing and managing the Engineering team in accordance with engineering policies and plan.

· This position reports to the General Manager.

Position Responsibilities:

· Managing the various stages of studies, design, construction, testing and commissioning execution for projects in accordance with the project schedule and budget.

· Reviewing of design inputs such as previous studies, design criteria, vendor catalogue, relevant Client, Company, Australian and International Standards, Codes and Legislative Requirements, and information from other teams, sub-contractor or Client.

· Building healthy relationship with client, vendors and involve with new requirement and technology.

· Preparing Scopes of Work documents, technical specifications and data sheets.

· Designing and developing single line diagrams, block diagrams, general arrangement, schematics and termination diagrams in conjunction with designers/draftspersons.

· Review and updating of cable schedule, equipment lists, bill of materials and interfacing with procurement ensuring items are ordered and delivered in a timely manner.

· Preparation of testing/commissioning documentation, configure protection relay setting files, test plans and create detailed technical reports with suitable recommendations on completion of works.

· Preparing HV submission report including power system modelling (DIgSILENT), protection settings, earthing study and arc flash assessment.

· Overseeing and reviewing work performed by designers/draftspersons and engineers, including timely provision of necessary information.

· Selecting, training and development of engineering team.

· Ensuring the engineering standard, procedures and policies are observed.

· Providing technical and QA/QC support during fabrication of equipment, construction and commissioning phases, including punch list close-out, ITP sign off and redline As-built.

· Involvement in site visits, construction and commissioning as required during the life cycle of the project.

· Ensuring compliance with safety, environment and quality management systems

Competencies and Experience Required:

· Relevant tertiary qualifications in Electrical Engineering or recognised equivalent.

· Minimum 7 years’ relevant work experience as an Electrical Engineer or similar in electrical engineering design and consulting in major industrial projects.
