Duties
Design, deploy, and manage cloud infrastructure solutions utilizing Azure services and tools such as Terraform, Ansible, PowerShell, Bash scripting, and Azure DevOps.
Develop and maintain scalable, reliable cloud architectures incorporating IaaS, PaaS, SaaS, and serverless solutions.
Implement system hardening, security best practices, and compliance measures across cloud environments to ensure data integrity and security.
Automate deployment processes through CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins, Git, Docker, Kubernetes, and other DevOps tools.
Monitor cloud environments for performance issues or security threats; troubleshoot and resolve infrastructure problems promptly.
Collaborate with software development teams to integrate APIs, microservices architectures, and web services into cloud platforms.
Manage virtualization platforms such as VMware, OpenStack, Rackspace, Citrix, and Hyper-V as needed for hybrid cloud solutions.
Maintain knowledge of emerging technologies including IoT integrations, NoSQL databases like MongoDB or Cassandra, SQL databases such as MySQL or PostgreSQL, and programming languages including Python, JavaScript, Java, Ruby on Rails, Go, and .NET frameworks.
Ensure adherence to SDLC processes while supporting application development efforts using Agile methodologies.
Conduct system hardening and security assessments; implement VPNs and network security measures like Meraki for protected connectivity.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field; relevant certifications such as Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect Expert or Azure Administrator Associate are highly preferred.
Proven experience in cloud computing with extensive knowledge of Microsoft Azure platform services including Azure Virtual Machines, App Services, Functions, Logic Apps, and Azure Storage solutions (S3-compatible storage experience is a plus).
Strong understanding of virtualization technologies such as VMware, OpenStack; familiarity with Rackspace or Citrix is advantageous.
Hands-on experience with containerization (Docker), orchestration (Kubernetes), configuration management (Ansible/Puppet/Chef), and Infrastructure as Code (Terraform).
Expertise in scripting languages including PowerShell and Bash; proficiency in Python or Ruby is beneficial.
Solid understanding of IT infrastructure components including operating systems (Windows/Linux/UNIX), networking (VPNs), APIs (RESTful), database management (MySQL/PostgreSQL/Oracle/MS SQL Server), and web services.
Experience with DevOps practices such as CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins or similar tools; familiarity with Git version control system.
Knowledge of microservices architecture, system hardening techniques, application deployment strategies, and software development lifecycle (SDLC).
