The Client

Tempest Vane Partners has partnered with a leading global trading and investment organisation to identify an exceptional DevOps Engineer to join their Technology Infrastructure division in London.

This is an opportunity to play a key role in a firm-wide transformation programme, modernising and scaling hybrid infrastructure that spans multiple data centres and public cloud environments.

The Opportunity

You’ll be joining a high-performing Platforms team responsible for designing, building and evolving a modern, automated infrastructure supporting global trading systems. The environment combines on-premise, private, and public cloud (Azure/AWS) technologies, leveraging best-in-class tooling and automation frameworks.

Over recent years, the business has invested heavily in containerisation, observability and CI/CD modernisation. The next phase focuses on scaling automation, standardisation and reliability across all environments.

Key Responsibilities

Engineer, automate and maintain scalable infrastructure across on-premise and cloud platforms.

Collaborate with developers and operations to streamline CI/CD pipelines and platform delivery.

Enhance system reliability, observability and performance using modern tooling and telemetry.

Contribute to architectural decisions that shape the firm’s hybrid cloud strategy.

Drive innovation through automation and process optimisation.

Core Skills \& Experience

Essential:

Proven experience in a DevOps or Platform Engineering role.

Expertise with

Ansible

,

Terragrunt

,

Python

, and

Groovy

(Jenkins pipelines).

Strong understanding of infrastructure-as-code and version-controlled workflows.

Exposure to peer review and collaborative development environments.

Desirable:

Knowledge of

Kubernetes

(on-prem and managed),

AWS/Azure

, and Linux/Windows automation.

Familiarity with CI/CD tools such as

TeamCity

and repository managers like

Nexus

or

Artifactory

.

Experience with

observability stacks,

such as Prometheus, ELK, OpenTelemetry, Jaeger.

Awareness of

Kafka

,

Redis

, and

network automation

.

Interest in chaos engineering and resilience testing frameworks.
