About The Role
Daloopa is a series B New York based startup leading technology company in the financial data automation sector, dedicated to reshaping how financial institutions leverage data for informed decision-making. As a Backend Engineer at Daloopa, you'll be a key contributor to the development of robust and scalable backend systems that power our innovative solutions. Position Overview: We are seeking an experienced Backend Engineer with expertise in Python and Django/Fast API to join our talented engineering team. You will play a pivotal role in designing, building, and maintaining the backend infrastructure of our cutting-edge financial data automation platform.
What You’ll Do
Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including product managers, front-end developers, and data scientists, to understand project requirements and translate them into technical specifications. Design, develop, and maintain secure, scalable backend APIs and services using Python and Django for enterprise customers. Create efficient and scalable database schemas, optimize SQL queries, and ensure data integrity. Ensure the security and integrity of data and implement data protection measures. Implement data protection measures, ensuring compliance with relevant standards. Implement and maintain automated testing and continuous integration pipelines to ensure code quality and reliability. Monitor and troubleshoot backend systems, addressing performance and availability for enterprise-scale operations. Collaborate in code reviews to maintain high-quality coding standards and best practices. Keep up-to-date with industry trends and emerging technologies in backend development. Contribute to architectural discussions and help make technical decisions for the platform's growth and scalability. Design and implement LLM-powered features including prompt engineering,response parsing, and output validation for financial modeling accuracy Implement LLM observability, monitoring, and evaluation systems to track model performance, latency, and cost
What You’ll Bring
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent work experience). Proven experience as a Backend Engineer for 5- 10 years (required). Proven experience managing large projects (required). Desired proven experience at US-based technology companies (even better if series B or above). Proficiency in Python programming. Familiarity with SOC 2, GDPR, and similar data security and compliance standards, with experience implementing best practices for data protection in enterprise applications. Experience with database systems, including SQL and NoSQL databases (e.g., MySQL, Redis, Amazon DynamoDB…). Familiarity with RESTful API design and development. Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot complex technical issues. Knowledge of software development best practices, version control systems (e.g., Git), and agile development methodologies. Excellent communication and collaboration skills. Experience building production LLM-powered applications using frameworks such as LangChain, LangGraph, or LlamaIndex Understanding of prompt engineering best practices, including few-shot learning, chain-of thought, and structured output formats Experience integrating with LLM provider APIs OpenAI, Anthropic Claude, Google Gemini) Self-motivated and capable of taking full ownership of projects from concept to deployment.
