What to Expect
As a Product Manager for Vehicle Acquisitions, you will focus on optimizing the end-to-end processes for trade-ins, lease returns, and other types of vehicle acquisitions to deliver seamless internal and customer experiences. You will coordinate with cross-functional stakeholders across departments such as Sales, Finance, Operations, and Engineering to identify and resolve process inefficiencies, ensuring financial accuracy and operational excellence. This workstream has significant financial and operational impacts, requiring meticulous attention to detail and first-principles thinking to drive innovation and scalability. In partnership with Acquisition and Customer Experience teams, your efforts will enhance customer satisfaction, streamline asset management, and support Tesla’s mission of accelerating the world’s transition to sustainable energy. Success will be measured by key metrics including process efficiency, financial reconciliation rates, customer feedback, and reduced operational friction.
What You'll Do* Migrate vehicle acquisition processes to integrated Tesla apps and systems for improved efficiency and user experience
Identify and address operational gaps in workflows related to vehicle intake, valuation, and asset disposition
Enhance in-app and internal experiences for customers and teams handling acquisitions, trade-ins, and lease returns
Collaborate with engineering, finance, and operations teams to integrate solutions that ensure data accuracy and compliance
Monitor key metrics such as financial reconciliation, turnaround times, and stakeholder satisfaction to drive continuous improvement
Reduce risks and errors through proactive, app-based solutions for valuation, documentation, and process automation
What You'll Bring* Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Business, Finance, or equivalent practical experience
Experience in product management within acquisition, trade-in, leasing, or automotive logistics domains
Strong understanding of app development, user experience design, and financial process integration
Proven ability to coordinate with diverse stakeholders across departments on complex, high-impact initiatives
Track record of applying first-principles thinking to solve operational and financial challenges
Analytical skills to evaluate performance data, including financial metrics and process efficiency
Familiarity with native app development and system integrations in a fast-paced environment
