What to Expect
The AI Hardware team is seeking an Infrastructure/DevOps Engineer with a focus on hardware acceleration platforms to design, build, monitor, and optimize workflows critical to silicon development. This role collaborates closely with the verification team, software development teams, and EDA vendors to accelerate and streamline Tesla’s silicon design processes using emulation and FPGA-based prototyping systems such as Synopsys Zebu and HAPS, Cadence Palladium and Protium, and Mentor Veloce. The ideal candidate will combine software development best practices with hardware acceleration expertise, ensuring robust, transparent, and efficient workflows for hardware acceleration model building and execution.

What You'll Do* Develop and maintain configurable workflows for hardware acceleration model building
Develop and maintain workflows for hardware acceleration runtime use, including user scheduling, job monitoring, and debug flows
Collaborate with EDA vendors to enhance the performance, scalability, and efficiency of vendor tools for emulation and prototyping environments
Monitor and troubleshoot verification infrastructure, including hardware acceleration platforms, to ensure efficient use of compute and license resources
Automate repetitive verification processes related to platform setup, design integration, and regression testing on emulation and FPGA systems
Document workflows, tools, platform configurations, and best practices to facilitate knowledge sharing and team onboarding
What You'll Bring* Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience
Strong programming skills in Python for scripting, automation, and tool development
Experience with source control systems (e.g., Git)
Familiarity with software development best practices, including version control, code reviews, and testing methodologies, and their application to hardware acceleration workflows
Proven ability to work in cross-functional teams, balancing the needs of hardware engineers, software developers, and IT administrators
Strong problem-solving skills to debug complex infrastructure issues spanning software, hardware acceleration platforms, and network domains
Knowledge of hardware acceleration platforms
