Job Description

Do you have experience working on high end fitout projects?

Looking to lead interesting and complex work?

Get involved from the early stages

We’re seeking a proven leader in large-scale fitout projects to join us on some significant projects from concept to completion. You’ll need strong stakeholder management skills and experience leading through all phases.

You’ll have the chance to get involved early, leading through the design phase working in parallel with the development agreement to help shape project outcomes.

As senior eyes and ears on our projects, you’ll be providing project leadership and direction, acting as a trusted advisor to your clients, and working closely with your teams, empowering the next generation of PM talent.

You Matter @ TBIG

You really do! We want you to enjoy your working day and the teams around you. We want to put opportunities in your way, and we’ll show we trust and support your instincts to lead projects and collaborate.

You’ll get an excellent salary package but there’s more to a rewarding job than that. The big things include a longer-term chance at becoming one of our employee shareholders, our support of flexible working, and we will continue your professional journey with networking, industry memberships and training opportunities. We’ll help with some of the smaller things too – like decent coffee, lots of fun social events with your colleagues, and company health and well-being initiatives such as our Spring Challenge. Fancy learning basic Te Reo or upskilling around Te Tiriti o Waitangi? We give you access and time to grow personally as well as professionally.

Here’s what we need from you:

Prove to us you’ve ‘got this’ as the safe pair of hands for owning project outcomes.

You are a trusted advisor to your clients - they have your ear at all times.

A willingness to lead by example, so the next generation of project managers learn from you.

An understanding of the power of a good team culture and how to support that.

High levels of engagement in the local fitout sector. You’ll bring credibility and demonstrate strong industry relationships.

A professional attitude that wins the respect of clients.

Your experience needs to include:

8+ years’ previous Project/construction management experience, some of which will have been in a Consultancy environment.

A range of experience across different project types and phases, including exposure to design management and a strong understanding of development agreements. Your project experience will include fitout projects and could also include base build, commercial development and/or civil projects in the NZ market.

Relevant qualifications such as Build Science, Construction PM, Engineering or Design.

Strong leadership coordinating design and technical teams.

The proven ability to challenge concepts, resolve problems and provide solutions

Detailed knowledge and the preparation of robust contract documents, correspondence and reporting. Demonstrable experience with NZS3910 contracts acting as Engineer’s Representative or Contract Administrator.

Understanding of relevant New Zealand building regulations and legislation and a strong focus on health and safety
