The Data Guyz is a Sydney-based data consulting company specialising in modern data platforms, analytics, and data engineering solutions. We are currently looking for a highly skilled Azure Data Factory (ADF) Data Engineer to join us immediately for a 6-month Fixed Term Contract, supporting a Federal Government client on a critical data platform initiative.
This role is ideal for someone with strong Azure Data Factory expertise and hands-on experience building scalable, configuration-driven data pipelines.
Key Responsibilities
Design, develop and maintain Azure Data Factory (ADF) pipelines for large-scale data integration.
Build pattern-based and configuration-driven ADF pipeline frameworks.
Develop reusable data ingestion and transformation patterns.
Integrate ADF pipelines with APIs (both source and target systems).
Work with Azure Functions for event-driven data processing.
Implement integrations with Azure Service Bus (queues and topics).
Collaborate with engineering teams to ensure robust CI/CD and DevOps practices.
Write and optimise complex SQL queries and data transformations.
Support deployment, monitoring, and troubleshooting of data pipelines.
Required Skills \& Experience
Strong hands-on experience with Azure Data Factory (ADF).
Proven ability to design and build ADF pipelines from scratch.
Experience developing pattern-based / configuration-driven ADF frameworks.
Experience integrating REST APIs with ADF pipelines.
Knowledge of Azure Functions and Azure Service Bus (queues/topics).
Programming experience with C#, Python, or similar scripting languages.
Strong SQL development and data transformation skills.
Good understanding of DevOps practices, CI/CD, and deployment pipelines.
Ability to work in a consulting environment and collaborate with multiple stakeholders.

Must hold an active Baseline Security Clearance
