The Jack and Jill Children’s Foundation is seeking a dynamic Web Developer and Designer to join its growing Communications team.

Some of the key responsibilities include:

Develop, create and action updates across Jack and Jill’s websites to ensure a smooth, engaging and effective user experience..

Provide proactive solutions to ensure a smooth user experience, optimise for conversions and ensure the sites are running as should.

Continuously review and enhance the website’s design, content and compliance.

Design and manage our online retail presence- update products and collections and solve internal queries.

Plan, design and execute email marketing campaigns through our CRM system, with a focus on engagement and conversion.

Measure insights from email campaigns to gain insight for actionable items for future campaigns

Design and produce graphics as required for our social channels, website \& other outlets.

Work in collaboration with external partners, as required and with input from the head of relevant departments.

Contribute to content ideas and design approaches.

Manage all search engine optimization (SEO) activities such as content strategy, link building and keyword strategy to increase rankings on all major search networks.

Measure and analyse results to ensure website effectiveness and a return on investment for the organisation.

Skill and Experience required:

Minimum of 3-5 years' experience in web development and design on WordPress. Understanding the WordPress eco-system and MySQL databases.

Solid understanding of website best practices such as heading hierarchy, uploads of images (compressing them), alt tags, aria-labels, colour contrast etc.

A firm grasp of WCAG 2.2 level AA and how to implement changes to achieve compliance.

Comfortable taking back-ups and server management via Plesk.

Excellent knowledge of website security and compliance.

Familiarity with Figma or similar design tools for web.

Experience using WP Bakery page builder is considered a plus.

Knowledgeable in HTML, CSS \& JavaScript.

Strongly understand mobile-first, responsive web development.

Familiar with web tracking tools such as Google Analytics 4, Google Tag Manager and how to interpret and act on data.

Understanding of Google Search Console, how it works and how to resolve issues and submit for verification.

Experience in Shopify, creating and managing pages, products and collections. Ability to work collaboratively with external partners for our annual incognito art sale. Knowledge of third-party applications, how to set them up and test they’re working as should.

Ability to test and troubleshoot when issues arise across both the WordPress and Shopify sites.

Knowledge/understanding of the Not-for-Profit sector beneficial.

Degree or equivalent in Web Design and Development.

Exemplary creative content development skills – graphics, infographics etc.

Copywriting skills beneficial but not essential.

Strategic planning skills – in collaboration with the team, designing and implementing a website that delivers bottom line results, raises awareness and engagement.

Proficient in the use of email marketing systems such as SuperOffice and Klaviyo.

Proficient in Customer Relationship Management tools i.e. MS SuperOffice (CRM) – training will be offered, where required.

Excellent knowledge of image editing software i.e. Canva Pro \& Adobe Creative Suite.

Proficient in MS Office.

Knowledge of video editing software would be an advantage but not required

Experience with social media management tools such as Sprout Social, or similar content scheduling platforms would be an advantage. Training will be offered, where required.

Excellent verbal, written and digital communication skills.

Good time management and ability to work in a fast-paced creative environment, with an emphasis on results.

Ability to use own initiative to work and set out your own tasks in relation to the scope of your role and contribute new ideas enthusiastically.

A proven track record of working collaboratively with colleagues and external stakeholders.

Strong project management and organisational skills.

Exceptional attention to detail.

Full clean driver’s licence and access to own car.
