We are seeking a Tier II/III Managed Systems Engineer to provide client support on\-site and aid with escalated helpdesk requests via email, phone, and our internal ticketing system and after\-hour support. This role will support Windows and Microsoft applications, as well as business critical software, while helping peers with existing projects.
Responsibilitiesbut are not limited to:
Cloud \& Infrastructure Management
Design, deploy, and manage cloud environments, focusing on Microsoft Azure and VMware for on\-prem environments
Perform server migrations, including transitioning VMware environments to Azure or modern supported platforms
Configure and optimize Azure Virtual Desktop (AVD) for remote workforce enablement
Implement and manage Intune, Group Policies, and Active Directory Sync (ADSync) for streamlined authentication
Enforce cloud security best practices, including MFA, identity management, and compliance policies
MSP Toolset Automation
Maintain Remote Monitoring and Management (RMM) platforms, ensuring optimal alerting, automation, and policy enforcement
Develop and deploy automation scripts (PowerShell, Bash, or Python) to improve system management and monitoring
Oversee patch management and remote software deployment through ConnectWise RMM
Implement ConnectWise RPA workflows and automation bots to reduce repetitive Tier I tasks
Assist in the implementation of Thread AI ticket triage and chat\-based support workflows
Optimize NOC monitoring and alert response workflows to minimize downtime for managed clients
Preferred knowledge: ConnectWise PSA, ConnectWise RMM, and IT Glue administration
Systems Administration \& Security
Maintain and optimize Windows Server environments (on\-prem and cloud\-based)
Install and troubleshoot SonicWall firewalls, VPNs, and SSL VPNs with Duo MFA
Support LAN/WLAN/WAN environments, including VLAN configurations
Conduct regular system audits, patch management, and compliance checks
Required: High\-level SonicWall administration experience
Preferred knowledge: SonicWall cloud management, Ubiquiti Unifi, and Cisco Meraki experience
Technical Support \& Project Implementation
Serve as escalation point for complex technical issues and support tickets
Mentor junior IT staff
Provide technical guidance on cloud strategies, cost optimization, and infrastructure improvements
Plan and execute server migrations while ensuring minimal downtime and data integrity risks
Participate in after\-hours on\-call rotation as required
Process \& Documentation Management
Develop and refine internal IT processes to enhance efficiency and service delivery
Create and maintain detailed technical documentation in IT Glue for internal reference and client environments
Standardize workflow procedures to improve knowledge sharing and operational consistency
Collaborate with internal teams to ensure documentation remains accurate and accessible
Perform other duties as assigned
Required Skills and Experience
4 to 6 years of experience in IT infrastructure, cloud administration, or system engineering within an MSP environment (MSP experience is required)
Preferred certifications: Microsoft Certified Azure Administrator Associate, Azure Virtual Desktop Specialty or equivalent, and SonicWall
Strong experience with Azure cloud services, Active Directory, and hybrid identity management
Hands\-on experience managing Windows Server environments, VMware, and Proxmox
Proficiency in RMM platforms (ConnectWise RMM or similar) for monitoring, automation, and patch management
Experience with networking technologies, including SonicWall, VLANs, and VPN configurations
Strong analytical and problem\-solving skills, with a focus on security, system performance, and cloud best practices
Ability to take ownership of projects and drive them from start to successful completion
Ability to work independently, manage multiple projects, and serve as a technical escalation point
Excellent internal and client\-facing communication skills
Adept at multi\-tasking and time management
Passion for client service, quality of work, and process efficiency
The annual pre\-tax salary for this role is $70,000 to $90,000 which is dependent on the candidate’s background, certifications, and experience.
