Mission:

The Product Owner at rocket code is a strategic leader responsible for representing the client's vision within the development team, transforming business requirements into clear, actionable deliverables, and leading the execution of projects from initial understanding to final delivery. They ensure alignment with the objectives defined in the Statement of Work (SoW) and the team's operational capabilities, fostering trust and collaboration with stakeholders, designers, engineers, and data teams.

Responsibilities

Client \& Stakeholder Communication

Act as the primary functional and operational point of contact for stakeholders and clients.

Conduct sessions for requirement understanding and refinement.

Align expectations and ensure accurate interpretation of the SoW.

Foster a collaborative relationship with clients, including strategic in-person meetings when necessary to facilitate decision-making and ensure alignment.

Scope and Change Management

Validate new requests or changes based on impact analysis concerning timelines, effort, and priorities.

Document and escalate adjustments as needed.

Contribute to strategic decision-making processes.

Requirement Definition \& Documentation

Develop flowcharts and functional maps.

Create clear, prioritized, and detailed user stories.

Maintain an updated backlog and functional documentation.

Alignment Between Design, Technology \& Business

Ensure proposed solutions from UX/UI and Tech Leads meet actual client needs.

Validate solutions with stakeholders to meet their expectations fully.

Project Progress Monitoring

Track progress on functional deliverables.

Ensure ongoing product quality, timelines, and value.

Facilitate agreements on key decisions.

Interaction with Other Roles

Clients/Stakeholders: Define requirements, functional reviews, decision-making, deliverable validation, and maintain regular and close interactions.

Product Designer: Align functionalities, workflows, and usability; validate prototypes.

Tech Lead: Validate technical feasibility, estimates, dependencies, and story refinement.

Developers/QA/Data: Communicate functional objectives, track user stories, support development, and testing processes.

PSM: Continuous communication for agreement follow-ups, defining next steps, and coordinating key meetings.

Head of Product: Provide mentorship, strategic guidance, and assistance in resolving complex structural challenges and aligning product vision.

On-time functional deliverables ≥85% per sprint

User stories and documentation approved on the first review ≥85%

≥95% of functional validations without additional post-development requirements

Out-of-scope changes managed without critical impact ≥90%

Backlogs and functional boards updated weekly ≥95%

Average time from requirement to validated delivery ≤14 working days

≥80% of risks identified before impacting project timelines

Requirements

Technical Skills \& Experience

Experience as a Scrum Master or similar agile leadership roles.

Practical expertise in agile methodologies (Scrum, Kanban), adapting approaches effectively to varying business contexts.

Advanced proficiency in project management tools such as Jira, Trello, or Azure DevOps.

Hands-on experience facilitating cross-functional teams and leading the planning and execution of technology projects.

Familiarity with modern development environments: APIs, microservices, CI/CD pipelines, and cloud computing (GCP preferred).

Capability to create, track, and analyze agile metrics (velocity, cycle time, burndown charts).

Intermediate project management skills, including report structuring, estimation, risk identification, and mitigation strategies.

Education \& Certifications

Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Information Technology, Business Administration, or related fields.

Mandatory certification in agile or project management methodologies, such as Scrum Master (CSM, PSM I/II), SAFe Agilist, Agile Coach, or PMP.

Desirable Qualifications

Previous experience working in technology-driven environments, fintech, or insurance sectors.

Language Skills

Spanish: Native or fluent (required for internal communication and stakeholder collaboration).

English: Intermediate (B1/B2), capable of reading technical documentation and actively participating in professional meetings.

Working Conditions

Fully on-site role in Coapa, Cuemanco 14360, Mexico City.

Monday to Friday schedule (8:00 am – 5:00 pm) with flexibility required as necessary for operational and strategic needs.
