About the Role
Weâre looking for a skilled and collaborative developer to join us as an Intermediate Software Developer. In this role, youâll transform business goals into technical solutions, build scalable systems, and work closely with our cross-functional team. What youâll do at TimelyGrader:
Transform business goals into actionable technical requirements and solutions
Work with all teams to assess feasibility, set project schedules, and identify priorities
Build highly scalable systems that can expand quickly as our product grows
Design, write, modify, integrate, and test backend and API code
Develop and maintain APIs to support new features and product enhancements
Review code and manage merge requests from other developers
Collaborate with project managers and other teams to ensure smooth delivery and clear communication
Guide and support other developers, providing constructive feedback and solutions
Continuously learn and seek opportunities to improve our codebase and processes
Weâd love to hear from you if you have:
1-2 years of experience (personal or professional) in software development. We value a drive to learn and improve over years of experience!
Proficiency in backend web development, with experience in Node.js, MongoDB, and RESTful APIs.
Familiarity with front-end frameworks (React preferred) and basic web technologies (HTML, CSS, JavaScript).
Experience with version control (Git) and modern development workflows.
Strong problem-solving skills and a collaborative, proactive attitude.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
The ability to organize your work and manage priorities in a fast-paced, agile environment.
Based in Vancouver, BC - youâll work regularly in our office, collaborating closely with our team.
You'll get bonus points for:
A portfolio or GitHub with real-world projects that demonstrate your technical skills.
Previous experience working in a tech startup or with higher education/edtech stakeholders.
Familiarity with cloud services (AWS, especially Lambda and S3).
Experience with automated testing frameworks and CI/CD pipelines.
