As Data Engineer, you'll build and maintain backend infrastructure to unify data from disparate clinic systems (e.g. EMRs, procurement databases). This role drives scalable ETL processes for analytics, with a focus on hands-on pipeline development and governance in a multi-site healthcare environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Data pipeline and architecture: Design, build, and maintain robust data pipelines, ETL processes, and data warehouses to ensure data is clean, accessible, and reliable.
Data analysis and reporting: Perform statistical analysis, identify patterns, and develop customized reports, dashboards, and visualizations to present findings to business stakeholders.
Data quality and governance: Ensure data accuracy, security, and quality throughout the data lifecycle.
Collaboration: Work closely with business teams to understand their needs and provide them with actionable insights, as well as collaborating with other technical teams like data scientists and software engineers.
Troubleshooting: Troubleshoot and optimize data-related issues to ensure smooth data delivery and performance.
Perform other ad-hoc tasks as assigned.
Requirement
Technical skills:
Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, SQL, and Java. Proficiency in ETL tools, cloud platforms
Experience with data processing and big data tools like Apache Spark and Kafka.
Knowledge of database management systems (SQL and NoSQL).
Experience with data visualization tools like Tableau and PowerBI.
Analytical skills:
Ability to interpret complex datasets and identify trends and patterns.
Strong statistical knowledge.
Soft skills:
Excellent communication skills to present complex data in a clear and understandable way.
Ability to work cross-functionally with both technical and business teams.
Strong problem-solving abilities.
Experience and education
Bachelor degree in Computer Science, Statistics, Data Engineering or a related quantitative field.
Experience in both data engineering (e.g., ETL, data modeling, data warehousing) and data analysis (e.g., reporting, visualization, statistical analysis) is crucial.
