Role Overview
As a Product Manager, you will play a key role in guiding our agile development teams, aligning product strategy with customer needs, and ensuring successful product delivery.
A strong understanding of the Australian freight forwarding industry is essential.
Key Responsibilities
Customer \& Market Focus
Act as the Customer’s Advocate: Represent the voice of the customer to ensure the product vision aligns with user needs and expectations, especially within the Australian and New Zealand logistics, freight forwarding, customs, and global trade ecosystem.
Apply industry knowledge related to international shipping, customs compliance, freight operations, and trade documentation to product decisions.
Product Strategy \& Roadmap
Craft and communicate a clear product strategy and product roadmap using Lean Canvas.
Identify trends in Australian and New Zealand customs modernization, freight automation, and global supply chain technologies to inform product direction.
Agile Leadership \& Delivery
Provide strategic direction to Agile development teams through well defined and prioritized requirements.
Manage the product backlog ensuring EPICs, features, and user stories reflect both industry needs and business objectives.
Track and report on deliverables, ensuring timely and value driven releases.
Project Scoping \& Planning
Estimate development effort and costs to support customer Statements of Work (SOWs).
Refine stories, EPICs, and themes with a focus on delivering maximum customer and business value.
Collaborate with stakeholders to define backlog scope (epics, features, user stories).
Agile Ceremonies \& Continuous Improvement
Facilitate backlog refinement, iteration planning, and elaboration of high quality user stories.
Stay up to date on Agile and Scrum methodologies as well as global trade and freight industry best practices.
Contribute to Product \& Portfolio Chapter improvements and product owner practice evolution.
Engage in ongoing professional development and product management certification.
Required Background \& Experience
Hands on experience within the Australian and New Zealand global trade and freight forwarding industry.
2+yrs experience as a Product Owner or Product Manager (preferred).
Qualifications in freight, logistics or technology (preferred).
SCRUM certifications (preferred).
An understanding of Agile processes and principles.
Excellent communication, presentation, and stakeholder management skills.
Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
Visionary, creative thinker with strong attention to detail.
Highly organized with excellent time management skills.
Technically competent.
Experience with automation and AI adoption e.g. identify possible use-cases for AI to be implemented in the product roadmap would be highly advantageous.
Open to applicants in Australia, the Philippines, or New Zealand with valid work rights - you will be required to work in your home country of the three - this role is not open for relocation.
