To support our continued growth, we are seeking an experienced Freelance Odoo BA specialist with strong expertise in Odoo 17 (or above), particularly in configuring the Accounting module, including full Chart of Accounts (COA) setup and related configurations.
Key Responsibilities
Install and configure the Accounting module in Odoo 17
Set up and customize the Chart of Accounts (including account codes, types, groups, tags, reconciliation settings, default taxes, and any necessary automation rules)
Handle company-specific fiscal localization (especially Hong Kong requirements if applicable)
Configure related accounting settings (journals, taxes, fiscal positions, default accounts, etc.) to ensure accurate financial tracking and reporting
Perform testing and provide documentation/handover for the configured setup
Potentially support minor customizations or integrations if needed in future phases
Required Skills \& Experience
Proven hands-on experience with Odoo 17 Accounting module (essential)
Strong knowledge of setting up and customizing Chart of Accounts (including account codes, types, groups, tags, reconciliation models, default taxes, and automation rules)
Good understanding of the Odoo framework (ORM, models, views, wizards, reports)
Experience with Odoo fiscal localization packages and multi-company/multi-currency setups
Ability to work independently on remote/freelance projects with excellent problem-solving and attention to detail
Nice-to-Have
Previous experience with Hong Kong fiscal localization or similar regional setups
Knowledge of XML/QWeb for customizing reports, invoices, or views
Experience importing/exporting data (CSV, Excel) and writing small Python scripts for bulk COA adjustments
Proficiency in Python (Odoo's core programming language — required for advanced customizations, scripts, or module extensions)Basic JavaScript and web technologies (for UI tweaks if needed)
Ability to communicate fluently in English and/or Vietnamese
