The Role
Our client is seeking a Technical Lead – SRE to provide hands-on technical leadership across our Azure-based SaaS platforms. This role is suited to a senior SRE who acts as the technical authority and go-to SME, leading by example and elevating reliability, scalability, and operational excellence across the platform.
You will work within a highly autonomous, agile environment, partnering closely with engineering, architecture, and security teams to ensure our clients global platforms operate at scale with high availability and performance.
Key Responsibilities
Act as the technical lead and SME for SRE practices across Azure-based platforms
Lead the design, operation, and improvement of AKS and Kubernetes environments at scale
Ensure platform reliability, performance, availability, and cost optimisation
Lead complex incident response, root cause analysis, and preventative improvements
Define and uplift SLIs, SLOs, monitoring, alerting, and observability practices
Drive automation and Infrastructure as Code to reduce toil and improve efficiency
Support and mentor engineers through technical leadership and solution design
Partner with engineering teams on deployments, platform improvements, and reliability testing
Participate in on-call rotation and support production systems as required
Skills \& Experience
Extensive experience in Site Reliability Engineering, Platform Engineering, or DevOps
Deep hands-on Kubernetes expertise, ideally AKS in production at scale
Strong experience operating Azure cloud infrastructure
Proven experience with Terraform or similar IaC tooling
CI/CD experience (GitHub Actions, Azure DevOps or similar)
Strong incident management and troubleshooting experience in distributed systems
Experience with monitoring and observability tools (Grafana, Datadog, Sumo Logic, etc.)
Scripting experience (Python, Bash, Ruby or similar)
Desirable
Experience with large-scale SaaS or customer-facing production platforms
Understanding of distributed systems, databases, caching, and containerisation
Passion for automation, reliability, and modern SRE practices
