First impressions are crucial. And thatâs why weâre on the lookout for a Web Developer to help maintain and improve TrueLayerâs public website. At TrueLayer, weâre building a global open banking platform thatâs changing how money moves and so much more. We make payments and refunds instant, account data accessible and verification seamless â all so innovators in every industry can build better financial experiences for their users.
As a Web Developer youâll be joining the web team, a part of our experience design group. Working closely with our design and marketing teams, your long-term goal will be to build a best-in-class, award-winning site that reflects TrueLayerâs status as an innovative payments company: one that is visually stunning, performant, accessible and technically correct at every level. You will also have the opportunity to gain familiarity with the latest tools, processes and technologies.

As our web developer, you will:
Contribute to the development and maintenance of the website using React, TypeScript, HTML, and CSS
Work closely with teammates in Marketing, Brand, and Product Design to help implement designs and features
Assist with CMS usage and content updates, helping support day-to-day publishing needs
Translate Figma designs into responsive, well-structured web pages with attention to detail
Help improve frontend performance by following established best practices and guidance
Write unit tests for new features and changes, and learn how integration testing is applied
Debug and troubleshoot issues in existing code with support from the wider engineering team
Follow best practices for accessibility, localisation, and SEO as part of everyday development
Test changes across different browsers and devices to ensure consistent behaviour
Document work clearly to support team knowledge sharing and future development
Support experiments and improvements aimed at enhancing user experience and site performance
Learn and apply a test-and-learn approach, including assisting with A/B tests
Assist with setting up and maintaining analytics tools and tracking events
About you:
Experience building modern websites
Proficiency in React and TypeScript. You are comfortable building functional components and managing state.
Strong CSS skills and a "user-first" attitude when building responsive layouts
Knowledge of cross-browser compatibility and accessibility issues
Experience with Static Site Generators (Gatsby, Next.js)
Understanding of APIs and have a foundational awareness of GraphQL
We would be particularly excited if you have:
Understanding of UX/UI design
Experience working with Design Systems and Tools (like Figma).
Experience connecting a frontend to a Headless CMS.
Familiarity with web animation libraries like Framer Motion, Motion One, or GSAP.
Familiarity with technical SEO best practice
What youâll learn:
You will go from basic knowledge to deep, strong experience in architecting these tools like Gatsby, NextJS and GraphQL.
How to optimise for Core Web Vitals and site speed in a production environment.
Getting hands-on with SEO best practices, Google Analytics, and Webmaster tools.
How to evaluate and implement various testing methods (Unit, Integration, Usability) to ensure site stability.
Learning how to use real-world data to back up your technical decisions.
