28th Conversation is an Amsterdam-based startup building Lisa, a conversational AI platform changing how brands uncover consumer insights worldwide and how organizations understand their employees. We're a small team of engineers, designers, and product people working with the biggest global brands. With a design-led development approach, innovation is at the heart of everything we do. We're at the stage where we're expanding, which means we need engineers who can build with speed and quality.
Role Description
This is a full-time, on-site role located in Amsterdam for a Full Stack Engineer.
You'll be joining a team of 4 engineers building a product that's already in the hands of major brands. This is scaling what works while shipping new capabilities fast.
What you'll do:
Own features end-to-end — from understanding the problem to shipping and iterating
Build and maintain our core platform (Node.js, TypeScript, Vue.js, PostgreSQL)
Integrate and work with LLMs in production — prompt design, evaluation, guardrails, reliability
Collaborate closely with designers and product to ship experiences users love
Write code that's testable, maintainable, and performs at scale
What we're looking for:
Technical skills
At least 5 years of professional experience with modern full-stack technologies
Strong experience with Node.js, TypeScript, Vue.js, and PostgreSQL
Solid understanding of object-oriented development and Domain Driven Design
Experience designing scalable, maintainable system architectures
Ability to translate product requirements into robust technical solutions
Experience writing, maintaining, and reasoning about tests
Strong understanding of performance bottlenecks across backend and frontend
High proficiency with Git, pull requests, and code reviews
Experience integrating LLMs into production systems
Understanding of prompt design, evaluation, guardrails, and AI reliability
Comfortable working with LLM-powered tools (ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini) as part of your workflow
Affinity with user experience, product quality, and design-conscious development
Familiarity with cloud-native architectures and modern deployment workflows
Soft skills
A proactive, problem-solving mindset with strong attention to detail
Comfortable working independently as well as in collaborative, cross-functional teams
Strong communication skills and the ability to explain technical concepts clearly
Self-start with an entrepreneurial mindset
Nice to have
Experience with Python, R, AWS infrastructure, Snowflake, or CI/CD pipelines
Familiarity with infrastructure as code (e.g., AWS CDK)
Requirements
Fluent in English (our working language)
Valid working permit for the Netherlands
