Udemy is a global company headquartered in San Francisco, with additional U.S. offices in Denver and Austin, and international hubs in Australia, India, Ireland, Mexico, and TĂŒrkiye.

This is an in-office position, requiring three days a week in the office (Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday) and flexibility on Mondays and Fridays

About Your Skills

Data Modeling and SQL: You have a strong understanding of data modeling concepts, including dimensional modeling and schema design, proficiency in SQL, and experience building data models and pipelines.

Communication: You have strong communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with team and cross-functional stakeholders.

Influencing: You can build effective working relationships with your peers and manager. You're able to articulate your ideas and influence decisions within your immediate team.

Decision Making: You use critical thinking to follow a defined decision making process and consider multiple perspectives. Upon making a decision, you are clear in your communication and ensure everyone is aligned in execution.

Technical Skills: Knowledge of Python or programming languages and familiarity of modern data tools are a plus.

About This Role

As an Analytics Engineer II at Udemy, you’ll transform raw data into trusted, scalable datasets that power analytics and decision-making across the company. You’ll collaborate closely with business, product, and engineering teams to deliver high-quality data models and pipelines that improve the accessibility and reliability of Udemy’s data ecosystem. This is a hands-on role with strong impact, giving you the opportunity to learn, grow, and directly contribute to Udemy’s mission.

What You’ll Be Doing

Designing, developing, and maintaining robust data models, transforming raw data into valuable insights.

Building and maintaining scalable data pipelines using tools like dbt.

Collaborating with stakeholders to understand data needs and business requirements.

Ensuring high data quality, reliability, and accuracy through regular monitoring and testing.

Writing clear documentation to empower business stakeholders.

Troubleshooting and debugging data issues to ensure seamless analytics capabilities.

Partnering with data analysts and data scientists to optimize the use of datasets.

Identifying opportunities for improvements in data workflows and processes.

What You’ll Have

3+ years experience in data engineering, analytics engineering, BI, or related technical roles.

Experience with data warehousing, ETL development, dimensional data modeling, and building data pipelines (dbt preferred).

Solid SQL proficiency and familiarity with cloud-based data platforms (Databricks, Snowflake, or BigQuery).

Understanding of data architecture concepts, including batch and streaming data systems.

Track record of contributing to the delivery of data products.

Experience with requirements analysis, data documentation, and communicating with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Ability to translate business requirements into robust, well-documented data solutions.

An eagerness to contribute ideas, improve processes, and support the team.

Actual compensation for this role is based on several factors, including but not limited to job-related skills, qualifications, experience, and specific work location due to differences in the cost of labor. In addition to a base salary, this role is also eligible for equity.

Hiring Compensation Range

$792,000—$990,000 MXN
