What you'll do:
As an Associate in the Real Estate Department within the Global Corporate Banking Division, you will play a pivotal role in supporting relationship managers as they drive business growth through effective client engagement and product promotion. Your day-to-day responsibilities will involve collaborating with various teams across the organisation to deliver tailored solutions that meet client needs while optimising profitability. You will be expected to monitor asset quality diligently, ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, and contribute actively to cross-selling efforts that expand the bankâs reach within the real estate sector. Success in this role requires strong communication skills, attention to detail, and a commitment to upholding high standards of professionalism in every aspect of your work.
Support relationship managers in promoting corporate banking products to achieve net operating profit targets while also seeking opportunities to acquire new clients within the real estate sector.
Assist in planning and setting strategic objectives that align with the bankâs long-term goals, ensuring all activities contribute positively to overall business performance.
Work collaboratively with Product Offices by leveraging their specialised knowledge and product offerings to optimise balance sheet performance and enhance customer satisfaction.
Drive cross-selling initiatives by identifying opportunities for transaction banking, overdrafts, foreign exchange, derivatives, and other relevant services to maximise the benefits of integrated solutions.
Monitor customer performance and credit status on a regular basis, taking prompt action when necessary to maintain asset quality and mitigate potential risks.
Ensure timely completion of all departmental actions, including regional key performance indicators, with a focus on accuracy and standardisation across processes.
Maintain full compliance with prevailing regulations by adhering strictly to internal controls and demonstrating exemplary ethical behaviour at all times.
Undertake additional assignments as directed by senior colleagues or management, contributing positively to team objectives and organisational success.
What you bring:
To excel as an Associate in this division, your background should reflect proven experience within corporate banking environments where you have supported relationship managers or similar roles. Your ability to build rapport with clientsâboth existing and prospectiveâwill be crucial as you help drive business development initiatives. A keen eye for detail will serve you well when monitoring credit status or ensuring compliance with internal controls. Your communication skills must be polished enough to interact effectively across multiple teams while maintaining sensitivity towards cultural nuances in Hong Kongâs dynamic market. A university degree in Business or a related discipline provides you with a solid academic foundation for understanding complex financial concepts relevant to corporate banking.
Between two and four years of hands-on experience in corporate banking equips you with practical insights into industry best practices and client relationship management.
A well-developed commercial sense enables you to identify business opportunities and understand how different products can address client needs effectively.
Comprehensive knowledge of corporate banking products allows you to confidently discuss solutions such as transaction banking, lending facilities, foreign exchange services, and derivatives with clients.
Proficiency in both written and spoken English and Chinese ensures you can communicate clearly with diverse stakeholders across local and international markets.
Sufficient PC literacy means you are comfortable using essential software tools for data analysis, reporting, and communication within a fast-paced office environment.
