Job Title: CPQ / CAD Automation Developer
About Us
We are a specialist manufacturer of high‑quality oak‑framed buildings, delivering beautifully crafted structures for residential, commercial, and bespoke projects. As we continue to expand our digital engineering capabilities, we are seeking a talented developer to streamline and automate our design and configuration processes.
Role Overview
We are looking for an experienced technical developer to take ownership of our CPQ (Configure–Price–Quote) scripting and to enhance our automated workflow that generates 3D CAD models directly from CPQ outputs. This role bridges software development and CAD automation, ensuring that customer specifications are translated seamlessly into accurate, production‑ready models.
Key Responsibilities
Develop and maintain scripts for our CPQ platform to automate product configuration, pricing logic, and bespoke options.
Design and implement code that automatically generates 3D CAD models from CPQ output data in our HSBCad modelling package.
Work closely with design and engineering teams to understand model standards, structural rules, constraints, and building parameters specific to oak‑frame construction.
Create and document data structures used to interface between CPQ outputs and CAD model generation.
Build and maintain automated workflows that reduce manual drafting time and improve design accuracy.
Troubleshoot, refine, and optimize existing scripts, rules, and model-generation tools.
Collaborate with internal stakeholders to gather requirements and develop new features for product configuration and modelling.
Provide ongoing support, improvements, and technical insight into future system integrations.
Investigate how AI can enhance both our internal sharing of knowledge and our offering to our customers.
Give training and support to all users and other team members.
Required Skills \& Experience
Strong coding/scripting experience (e.g., Python, JavaScript, C#, VB, or similar).
Previous experience writing scripts or logic within a CPQ system (e.g., Salesforce CPQ, XaitCPQ, Configure One, or similar).
Hands‑on experience automating CAD model generation — ideally using:
HSBCad, Revit, or equivalent.
Experience with CAD APIs, macros, add‑ins, or parametric modelling tools.
Understanding of geometry, parametric design principles, or rule‑based engineering.
Strong problem‑solving skills and an ability to translate real‑world construction constraints into program logic.
Excellent communication and documentation abilities.
Desirable (but not essential)
Experience in timber or oak-framed building design.
Knowledge of manufacturing or construction workflows.
Familiarity with ERP, PLM, or other business systems that may integrate with CPQ/CAD.
Background in mechanical engineering, architectural technology, or computational design.
Pay: £31,000.00-£38,000.00 per year
Benefits:
