Job Description

Associate Product Manager \| Urban Company

About the Company

Urban Company is a technology platform offering customers a variety of services at home. Customers use our platform to book services such as beauty treatments, haircuts, massage therapy, cleaning, plumbing, carpentry, appliance repair, painting, etc., all delivered in the comfort of their home and at a time of their choosing. We promise our customers a high-quality, standardized, and reliable service experience. To fulfill this promise, we work closely with our hand-picked service partners, enabling them with technology, training, products, tools, financing, insurance, and brand, helping them succeed and deliver on this promise.

Urban Company started as UrbanClap in November 2014, when its founders, Abhiraj, Raghav, and Varun, realized that the home services industry was predominantly unorganized, fragmented, and offline. The founders felt that the industry was ripe for disruption, and launched Urban Company, with three key principles in mind:

Customer love:

Build a platform that offers truly delightful and differentiated services.

Partner empowerment:

Build a deep, full-stack partnership with service partners, helping improve their earnings and overall livelihood.

Technology first:

Bring innovation and technology to an age-old industry.

About the Role \& Team

The Product Management team creates the vision to empower millions of service professionals across the world to deliver service experiences at home like never seen before. Our mission is to build a full-stack platform that enables these professionals to become micro-entrepreneurs, organizing them and multiplying their earnings.

You will work on mission-critical pillars of our "

" such as:

Market Access \& Business Growth:

Building systems that drive a 2-3x jump in partner earnings by connecting them with high-demand market access and brand equity.

Training \& Upskilling:

Financing \& Insurance:

Creating financial products that facilitate bank account opening, loans, insurance, and other benefits for partners.

Product \& Tools Procurement:

Managing the supply chain product stack for consumables, spares, cosmetics, cleaning materials, and paints.

Global Scalability:

Contributing to our new design system, "Align DS," which acts as the torchbearer for UC as it steps into global markets.

Responsibilities

Drive Product Vision:

Think bold and big to define long-term answers rather than short-term hacks, owning the roadmap for your vertical.

Customer Empathy:

Talk directly to customers to truly understand their problems, empathizing with them to derive deep insights.

Data-Driven Execution:

Ground every decision in data and the voice of the customer, never assuming the answer without validation.

Cross-Functional Collaboration:

Communicate and work collaboratively with engineering, design, and business teams to ship groundbreaking and innovative products.

+1

Quality Assurance:

Maintain a high bar on everything you touch, caring deeply about your product and giving your stamp of approval only when it meets excellence standards.

What we need:

Customer Obsession:

You get energy from interacting with customers and understanding their core problems.

Analytical Mindset:

You do not assume answers; you rely on data and customer feedback to guide your decisions.

Strategic Thinking:

Ability to think about the long-term picture and avoid short-term fixes.

High Ownership:

A go-getter attitude with a willingness to be hands-on and a high standard for quality.

Collaborative Skills:

Strong ability to communicate and work effectively with diverse teams.

What can you expect:

Impact:

A phenomenal work environment with massive, direct impact on the lives of people.

High-Performance Culture:

A high-velocity environment at the cutting edge of growth, where you will rub shoulders with some of the smartest folks in the ecosystem.

Ownership \& Autonomy:

A culture of 'doers' rather than 'approvals,' offering strong ownership expectations and the freedom to fail.

Significant Value:

Opportunity to participate in our ESOP program, which has generated significant value for employees through buyback programs.

At Urban Company we are committed to providing equal and fair opportunities in employment and creating an inclusive work environment. We endeavor to maintain a work environment free from harassment based on age, colour, physical ability, marital status, parental status, ethnic origin, religion, sexual orientation, or gender identity.
