Job Description UST Global is seeking
Java Junior Developers
to build end-to-end business solutions for one of our leading financial services clients in Australia. The ideal candidate will have a solid foundation in both
frontend and backend development
, along with strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with product owners, domain experts, and technical teams.
Key Responsibilities
Collaborate closely with the Product Owner to understand business requirements and assist in requirement-gathering and design review discussions
Take ownership of assigned backlog items and coordinate with team members to deliver sprint commitments
Participate in technical discussions related to software design, architecture, development, and user experience
Develop, enhance, and maintain application features using modern frontend and backend technologies
Support and participate in client demonstrations of project features and enhancements
Assist QA teams with test planning, defect analysis, root cause identification, and bug fixes
Follow Agile / Scaled Agile development practices and contribute to continuous improvement
Required Skills \& Qualifications
Experience in developing applications using multi-tier architecture
Hands-on knowledge of Java/J2EE, Spring, Spring Boot
Experience with REST and SOAP web services, Hibernate, and SQL
Understanding of microservices architecture
Familiarity with application servers such as Tomcat and WebSphere
Experience with CI/CD tools like Jenkins and code quality tools such as Sonar
Knowledge of AJAX, JSON payloads, Swagger/OpenAPI, and API development
Experience in unit testing using JUnit or similar frameworks
Exposure to Cloud platforms (Google Cloud preferred; AWS acceptable)
Strong understanding of web service models and API integrations
