Job Summary and QualificationsThe Data Engineer is responsible for loading and processing client data as well as helping with other internal data workflows. This role is also responsible for supporting the build out of automated solutions related to data pipelines and analyzing larger complex data sets.
What you will do in this role:
Assist in initial validation of new data sets
Monitor monthly incoming data feeds for timeliness, consistency, and completeness
Process monthly data feeds within established SLAs and with great attention to detail
Assist in fulfillment of client custom reporting needs and questions
Use internal business intelligence tool to pull reports and build views of data
Carefully document new processes or requests
Build/manage test automation for data ingestion
Work with Account Managers and Business Analytics team to ensure client data concerns are addressed promptly
Self-check work for accuracy
Raise concerns and identify problems
Configure AWS data pipelines to automate current monthly import processes
Automate reporting with Python and/or cron jobs
Design and implement BI solutions for internal and external end users, including KPI Dashboards, project summaries, and reports
What qualifications you will need:
Bachelor's degree in Information Systems Management, or equivalent degree
Minimum 1 year of data mining, analytical, and report creation experience
Demonstrated experience with SQL-type languages, with Postgres experience preferred
General familiarity/experience with programming languages, such as Python
Basic understanding of Linux file system and simple commands
1-2 years of experience using Microsoft Excel regularly
Understanding of file systems and best practices for data sharing
Ability to communicate thoughts in an organized manner
Understanding of basic accounting and financial practices preferred
Experience with AWS and automation methodologies
