A leading global technology consultancy is seeking an experienced DevOps Engineer to drive infrastructure automation, Kubernetes operations, and cloud-native deployments for a mission-critical European enterprise program. This 12-month onsite engagement offers the opportunity to work with cutting-edge technologies in a high-availability environment alongside a top-tier international engineering team.

Key Responsibilities

Design, deploy, and maintain production-grade Kubernetes clusters (kubelet, controller, scheduler, etc.)

Extend Kubernetes functionality using CRDs, CNI, CSI, and manage workloads via kubectl, k9s, etc.

Automate infrastructure tasks using Bash or Python

Operate and troubleshoot Linux systems and networks at scale

Perform advanced traffic/log analysis using tools like tcpdump, dig, netstat

Implement and support service mesh technologies (e.g., Envoy, Istio)

Manage SSL/TLS certificate lifecycles and secure services with OpenSSL

Support physical and virtual infrastructure: ILO, serial consoles, cabling

Configure and manage Cisco switches, VLANs, OSPF, BGP, LLDP, VxLAN overlays

Integrate with Windows infrastructure including AD, GPOs, and ADFS

Apply SRE and DevOps practices to improve observability, automation, and system resilience

Collaborate with developers, architects, and security engineers to streamline CI/CD workflows

Requirements

Proven experience in DevOps/Kubernetes environments

Strong Linux system administration and network troubleshooting skills

Proficiency in infrastructure automation (Bash, Python, etc.)

Deep understanding of containerized systems, networking, and security

Experience with service mesh, proxies, and observability tooling

Familiarity with on-prem and hybrid cloud setups

Exposure to CI/CD pipelines, GitOps, and infrastructure as code (IaC)

Solid grasp of high-availability systems and production support best practices
