Required Skills
Core Java backend development (OOP, collections, error handling, performance)
Spring Boot – building and maintaining RESTful APIs, configuration, starter modules
End-to-end solution delivery experience (taking features from design → dev → test → production in enterprise systems)
Relational DB \& SQL (schema design, joins, query optimization, handling large datasets)
Working in enterprise architecture / microservices within an existing ecosystem (integrations, dependencies, versioning)
Experience deploying / running Java apps on VM-based environments (basic Linux, Tomcat basics, logs, services restart, config)
Understanding of AI / GenAI fundamentals (LLMs, prompts, context windows, tokens, limits, model-agnostic concepts)
Prompt engineering skills (structuring prompts, system vs user prompts, handling ambiguity, enforcing guardrails / instructions)
Token \& cost optimization concepts (token counting, prompt refactoring, caching strategies, batching requests)
Understanding of RAG concepts and ability to troubleshoot RAG-based services (retrieval issues, hallucinations, latency, relevance)
Ability to debug and troubleshoot complex backend + AI integration issues end to end
General software engineering best practices (testing approach, code structure, logging, observability mindset)
Communication skills – clarity in explaining design, trade-offs, and issues to tech + non-tech stakeholders
Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a distributed team (India / Singapore)
Comfort working in APAC time zones with typical start around 8 AM IST and overlapping with Singapore team
Hands-on experience implementing RAG pipelines (vector stores, chunking, retrieval strategies, evaluation)
Experience with Microsoft-centric enterprise environments / tooling (where relevant to integration)
Frontend experience with Angular \& JavaScript (basic to moderate – for troubleshooting or minor UI changes)
Cloud awareness (basic concepts in AWS/Azure/GCP – networking, managed DBs, basic services)
Familiarity with code quality tools and practices (SonarQube, static analysis, code review discipline)
Experience working in large, regulated enterprises (financial services / similar compliance-driven environments)
Prior experience integrating with external AI model providers / APIs (OpenAI, Azure OpenAI, etc.)
