We are looking for an EQS Lead for the start-up of a World Class Manufacturing Company located in Torreón, Coahuila.
JOB OVERVIEW
Manage, plan, innovate, develop, implement, measure and continually improve environmental, quality and safety programs to generate quality processes, remove non- value-added actions, protect our environment and create sustainable and safe working conditions.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
1. Develop a sustainable environmental program that fits within the Company's mid-term planning goals and embraces international green manufacturing standards.
a. Develop and implement a formal environmental statement and policy.
b. Become a zero-waste generator. (with assistance of FMA)
c. Become a ‘green supplier’.
d. Market the above into our product lines.
e. Research data and provide Monthly report on Environmental KPIs (Sphera)
2. Develop a sustainable quality program that integrates completely with Company's mid- term planning goals and utilizes already identified tools such as Total Synchro and CAQ.
a. Develop and implement a formal quality statement and policy.
b. Develop a standard set of criteria/tools in which each process must be validated before implementation. (This set of criteria will be developed by the EQS Lead and proposed to the management team for approval – upon approval, the EQS Lead will use targeted change agents to assist with implementation throughout the company)
c. Continue the development of a formal quality manual via the quality committee. Ensure this manual is sustainable and available to our customers per request. (Currently we use and refer to corporate documents that accurately reflects our standards, since we are not ISO 9001 certified). Perform Gap Analysis and achieve ISO 9001.
d. Use warranty data and analysis as a gauge in which we target our macro quality efforts. EQS Lead should monitor monthly data and marry/share the information with management, quality and total synchro teams constantly developing company standards and solutions that address specific ‘hot’ areas.
e. Maintains quality standards. (Incoming Inspection – Final Module Inspection processes)
f. Through personal management and change agents – pursue standardized processes at every possible location throughout the company. Develop employee culture, empowering employees to identify MUDA and empowering them to make the changes to remove MUDA (non-value-added processes).
g. Manages and maintains the Jour Fix \& MLS monthly data in the MLS Kanri share points. Participates in monthly report meetings, provides details and explanations on KPIs.
h. Perform annual Company's Internal ISO 9001 audits with other NAM facilities (BPRI / BMIN)
i. Attend Quality conferences and quality training sessions as required.
j. Conducts Supplier Audits along with members of the Purchasing team.
k. Manages and trains on the CAQ process for ML (NCR, NOC, Project Execution Token Template)
3. Build upon our current safety program and culture. Allocate much more time to weaving safety into our overall corporate culture. Quality \& Safety are assumed by our customers. We must develop a culture that understands this customer assumption and show the relationship between a safe quality product and profitability.
a. Manage corporate safety committee and weekly safety inspection Gembas.
b. Manage corporate emergency response team. Conduct annual Safety Training and Evacuation drill.
c. Ensure facility compliance to local, state and OSHA federal guidelines, including Fire Dept. inspections and audits.
d. Total management of worker’s compensation processes. (injury prevention, reporting, accident investigation, claims processing and follow-up, emergency room and hospital visit, etc.)
e. Manages company’s Prescription Safety Glasses process (EyeCare Center)
f. Leadership role on the Fabricators \& Manufacturers Association, International safety council. (This includes monthly conference calls, quarterly articles, quarterly white papers and quarterly teaching sessions, and annual attendance of national safety conference.)
g. Manages conformity to the Sedex Members Ethical Trade Audit ( SMETA) process. Plant’s Lead Representative for SEDEX audit.
h. Plant representative for ISNetworld contractor accounts. Annual updates on
i. Safety, Workers Compensation (TRIR / DART / MOD rates). Review, recommendations, and approval of the safety \& environmental requirements section of customer bids, customer contracts and customer plant entry forms.
j. Manages Global EHS Health \& Safety KPI data in global sharepoint.
k. Develop, write, and teach all corporate safety training programs.
l. Develop and maintain the safety orientation process (new hires, visitors and contractors) with a special focus on specific orientations and sustainable follow-ups based upon job description with the goal being to make the training more applicable to the specific job being performed.
m. Build and further develop the safety policy and relationship with all field employees with the goal of spending one visit per quarter with a different field technician. After each visit, taking firsthand feedback and using it to develop a sustainable field safety culture that our field teams buy into and fully support.
n. Involvement in the decision-making process to ensure every piece of equipment first meets our safety, environmental and quality standards.
p. Conducts weekly ML hourly employees shop Safety Meeting on the shop floor.
4. Provide weekly, monthly, and quarterly reports to management team, as required, to include statistics on EQS initiatives, articles written, and training sessions taught.
a. Monthly updates to Electronic Communication Boards (Safety / Quality / Environmental)
Requirements: 1. Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or related discipline required
2. Minimum of 4-7 years of experience in manufacturing environment and quality programs.
3. Project management experience
4. Local, state and federal certifications in environmental and quality initiatives required.

TECHNICAL SKILLS
1. Possesses expert knowledge of engineering drafting/drawing, mathematics, engineering principles and calculations and machine design.
2. Thorough understanding of manufacturing principles including metal working and assembly techniques
3. Thorough understanding of design and engineering standards and manufacturing techniques.
4. Familiar with codes and regulations that govern the design and control scheme for thermal processing equipment such as NFPA, FM, OSHA, CE and EN.
