Partnering with Product, Experience Design, Analytics, and business leaders across Wayfair, our Native App Engineering teams contribute to an award-winning mobile experience that makes shopping for your home delightful and engaging. iOS and Android engineers leverage the full capabilities of mobile devices and their SDKs. For example, our apps take advantage of augmented reality, computer vision-assisted product search using the device’s camera, and machine learning to create personalized experiences and improve the speed of the app.

This team’s charter is to facilitate continuous engagement and retention during our customers shopping and home project lifecycle by creating new value propositions for the Wayfair App Experience designed to serve the needs of early lifecycle and low-purchase intent users. The ideal candidate has experience in native iOS development, and a proven track record of delivering high quality features efficiently. This person will leverage their breadth of knowledge to deliver features for Wayfair shoppers to make their shopping experience frictionless and delightful.

What You'll Do

Produce high quality, enterprise grade experiences to delight customers

Use Java to design API to consume/produce data and build backend applications to power Wayfair Supplier Advertising platforms.

Use Javascript/React to design and build frontend applications leveraged by a wide variety of stakeholders across Wayfair

Provide superior monitoring visibility to technical and operational health of the platform using DataDog

Hone your technical leadership skills as you help grow engineers on your team to develop the next generation of Wayfair engineering

Provide high quality reviews, for both code and technical designs

Use ecommerce business knowledge to convert the product requirements into a technical solution.

What You'll Bring

2-4 years of experience in backend software engineering using object oriented language and preferably Java or Python

Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or equivalent combination of education and experience

Experience working with relational and non-relational databases

Experience working with event-driven architectures, DDD, and TDD

Experience and desire to work in an agile environment

Analytical mindset and passion for solving business problems with technology

Extensive experience as a full stack engineer.

Mastery of some flavor of modern frontend frameworks and technologies like React, Redux, etc

Experience in Big Data technologies like Apache Kafka/Apache spark/Nosql databases

Preferred experience in the CI/CD tools/platforms like Buildkite/Docker/Kubernetes.

Experience with Cloud Native architecture platforms like Google Cloud, AWS, or Azure.

Experience in system monitoring using tools like DataDog etc.

Experience in development and technical design of frontend applications from start to finish

Understanding of functional programming and javascript best practices

Experience and deep understanding of atomic design (reusable components)
