Engineer – Join a High-Impact Transformation Program

This role will play a crucial part of the UNITE team. UNITE is our business-led, tech-enabled transformation, and a key priority for the Group. What’s the role?

The Banking Platform team is involved in several exciting projects aimed at enhancing features for our Digital, Lender and Broker Channels. In this role, you will be supported in analysing, designing and developing a 'fit for purpose' IT and business solutions to meet the diverse requirements across the Banking Platform portfolio. You will predominantly operate in an Agile environment, supporting technology capabilities to effectively deliver value to customers

Key Responsibilities

Assist in the design, development, and testing of software solutions for lending and originations platforms.

Collaborate with senior engineers and cross-functional teams to understand requirements and deliver quality outcomes.

Contribute to documentation including flowcharts, diagrams, and code comments to support maintainability.

Participate in Agile ceremonies and contribute to sprint planning, reviews, and retrospectives.

Learn and apply engineering standards, tools, and practices under guidance from experienced team members.

Support troubleshooting and issue resolution using tools like SQL Developer and Splunk.

What do I need?

Good experience or academic exposure to Java development.

Familiarity with REST APIs and Microservices architecture.

Basic understanding of Oracle databases and SQL.

Exposure to web services (SOAP, XML, JSON) and integration concepts.

Interest in learning tools like Jira, Confluence, BitBucket, and CI/CD pipelines (e.g., Jenkins).

Strong communication skills and a willingness to learn from others.

A collaborative mindset and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
