Whatâs the role?
As a Senior Full Stack Engineer, you will join the Customer Engagement Technology team within Consumer Technology, working as part of the Digital Banker squads on a new staff digital platform. Youâll contribute to a strategic, cloudâbased initiative focused on simplifying staff experiences across sales and servicing, helping improve customer service, reduce risk, and make Westpac a better place to work.
Additionally, you will collaborate within crossâfunctional teams to deliver highâquality solutions for the Westpac Digital platform. Youâll write clean, secure code aligned to best practices, design REST APIs using OpenAPI standards, and reuse shared components where possible. Youâll also help diagnose and resolve complex service issues and maintain strong code quality through regular security and quality scans.
Youâll actively participate in Agile ceremonies, provide technical guidance and mentoring to engineers, and support the growth of the engineering community through graduate, intern, and guild initiatives.
What do I need?
Proven experience delivering enterprise applications as a Full Stack Developer, with a strong backend focus.
Strong skills in Node.js, building and supporting backend services and integrations.
Working knowledge of React / ReactJS to support endâtoâend delivery when required.
AWS experience is highly desirable, particularly with cloudâbased services and integrations.
Experience working with CI/CD pipelines and tools such as Git and SonarQube.
Strong knowledge of REST API design and building cloudâbased solutions.
Passion for building reliable, scalable backend systems with a strong quality mindset.
