Remote (occasional travel to York, 1–2 times per month)

WRK digital is excited to partner with a well-known and trusted UK brand to recruit a skilled

DevOps Engineer

for a new contract opportunity. This is a fantastic chance to join a forward-thinking technology team focused on scalability, automation, and cloud infrastructure innovation.

We're looking for an experienced DevOps professional who can lead and support the build, deployment, and optimisation of cloud-native infrastructure and CI/CD pipelines — primarily within an AWS environment. You will play a key role in ensuring infrastructure is robust, secure, and designed for scalability using Infrastructure as Code (IaC) practices, with a strong emphasis on

Terraform

.

Key Responsibilities:

Design, implement, and manage scalable cloud infrastructure using

AWS services

and

Terraform

Develop and maintain CI/CD pipelines to support application deployment and environment management

Collaborate with development, data, and security teams to ensure efficient and secure infrastructure delivery

Automate infrastructure provisioning, configuration, and monitoring

Ensure high availability, performance, and disaster recovery strategies are in place

Monitor systems for performance and reliability issues, resolving incidents quickly and efficiently

Advocate for DevOps best practices and continuous improvement within the team

Key Skills \& Experience:

Proven experience as a

DevOps Engineer

, ideally within a mid-to-large scale cloud environment

Strong hands-on experience with

AWS

(e.g. EC2, S3, ECS, Lambda, RDS, IAM, CloudWatch)

Solid experience writing Infrastructure as Code using

Terraform

Experience with CI/CD tools such as GitHub Actions, Jenkins, or similar

Familiarity with containerisation tools (e.g. Docker, Kubernetes a plus)

Knowledge of monitoring/logging tools (e.g. CloudWatch, Prometheus, ELK)

Strong scripting skills (e.g. Bash, Python)

Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills

Location \& Flexibility:

This is a remote-first contract role, with a requirement to attend meetings in York 1–2 times per month.
