Key Responsibilities

Developing batch and streaming data pipelines using Python, SQL, PySpark, and tools like Databricks, Azure Data Factory, or AWS Glue

Designing and maintaining lakehouse architectures with storage and metadata tools such as Delta Lake, S3, ADLS, Snowflake, or Redshift

Orchestrating workflows with Apache Airflow, dbt, or cloud-native orchestration tools

Automating deployments and infrastructure using Terraform, Bicep, or CloudFormation

Enforcing data governance, IAM, and compliance frameworks (e.g., GDPR, ISO 27001, Purview)

Collaborating within Agile DevOps teams to deliver secure, production-grade data solutions

You’ll typically join long-term client teams where you make a visible impact, with the flexibility and support of Wypoon as your engineering home base.

Requirements

8+ years of hands-on experience as a Data Engineer, with at least several years of recent experience designing and implementing end-to-end data solutions in cloud environments such as Azure, AWS, or GCP

Advanced proficiency in Python and SQL, with a strong understanding of data transformation, performance tuning, and automation

Experience with distributed compute frameworks such as Spark, Databricks, or Flink, including the ability to scale data pipelines in production environments

Solid grasp of data modeling, lakehouse architecture, and data warehousing principles

Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines, Git workflows, and Infrastructure-as-Code tools (e.g., Terraform, Bicep, CloudFormation)

Experience implementing data security, access control, and compliance-aware solutions (e.g., GDPR, IAM, Purview)

Confident working within Agile/DevOps teams, and comfortable presenting complex technical insights across disciplines

Education: Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, data science, or a related field

Language skills: Proficiency in English at B2 level or higher, both spoken and written
