Company Description

At Xook, we are building a new-age food distribution model using a fleet of fully cloud-controlled robotic kiosks. We believe in a future where every person could have freshly made food tailored to their personalized taste whenever they want and are committed to making it a reality using digital recipes, IoT, and robotics.

As a Service Engineering leader working closely with the founders and the product team, you would play an impactful role in furthering the current kiosk servicing strategy and SOPs, as well as implementing it to achieve results.

Roles and Responsibilities

Electro-mechanical assembly and installation of machine/ sub-systems: Responsible for the assembly and installation of machines/sub-systems per SOP, which includes lifting, leveling, aligning, and sealed joint installation, as well as machine deployment and packing on-site. Assist in installing and commissioning electrical systems, ensuring proper connections and compliance with electrical codes.

Inspection, Maintenance, and Troubleshooting - both on-site and at the shop floor: Conduct regular inspections and maintenance of machines to ensure optimal performance, diagnose faults, and perform repairs while maintaining cleanliness and using appropriate safety gear.

Support R\&D Tasks, augmenting the engineering team: Provide hands-on support for R\&D activities in collaboration with engineering, addressing build issues, and iterating on designs based on testing feedback. Propose and implement enhancements to electrical systems to improve efficiency and reliability.

Safety and Compliance: Maintain a safe working environment by adhering to company and OSHA standards, utilizing appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE), and following safety protocols.

Documentation: Keep detailed records of maintenance activities, issues encountered, root cause analyses, and daily project tracking for self-improvement.

Self-Initiative and Learning: Continuously develop necessary skills and certifications, such as HVAC and electrical systems, while sharing knowledge with peers and guiding junior technicians / service engineers.

Must-Haves

Experience: 5+ years in machine fabrication and manufacturing, particularly in robotics or automation or other industries requiring low tolerance assemblies with moving parts.

Education: Engineering or Trade School education in Electrical, Mechanical, Industrial, Manufacturing, or related engineering fields.

Tool proficiency: Manual and power tools (e.g., drills, grinders, routers) - Measuring instruments (e.g., vernier calipers, micrometers) - Adhesives and sealants (e.g., Akfix 702, epoxy), etc.

Interpreting Designs: Proficient in reading engineering drawings, electrical schematics, and SOPs. - Understanding of GD\&T and welding symbols.

Strong Problem Solving: Strong analytical skills to diagnose issues and collaborate with engineering teams. - Excellent communication abilities and a strong desire to learn new tools and techniques.

Prior Knowledge or Willingness to learn on the Job Required

Refrigeration Systems: Prior understanding, or willingness to learn on own initiative with official support - Repair and installation skills including vacuum creation, gas charging, leakage testing, and brazing.

Electrical Knowledge: Solid understanding of electrical systems, circuits, and components, including wiring techniques and connector assembly. - Skills in crimping, soldering, and wire routing.

Good to Haves

EPA 608 certificate Type I and also able to work with A2L refrigerants

Hands-on experience in TIG and/or MIG welding

Working exposure to Electronics and Electrical domain

Experience in working with transformers, compressors, PCBs, and automation components

PCB Assembly (SMD and Through hole)

Wire harnessing

Nature of Job: FLSA Exempt

Primary Location: Philadelphia, PA.

Deployment sites could be across the South-East Pennsylvania region, and the company has policies for allowances and reimbursements for handling far-off deployments.

Compensation: Highly competitive with Fixed Cash + Performance Bonuses, and Stock options, depending on the experience and skills levels.

Background Check: After a conditional offer of employment, every employee in the company would be subject to a standard background check process (no exceptions) upon offer acceptance, since we work with customers who could potentially require security clearances in the future.

Work Authorization: You should already be authorized to work in the United States. We wouldn't be able to sponsor or transfer any kind of work visas at this time.
