CAD Technician (International School - Secondary)
Yew Chung International School - Secondary is seeking an energetic and practical individual to join our Design \& Technology department. The technician will collaborate closely with teachers and support staff to aid students and educators. Our department has various tools such as traditional machine tools, hand tools, CAD/CAM laser cutters, CNC routers, and 3D printers. Additionally, we are progressing towards integrating sensor-based projects with robotics or Arduino into the curriculum. Familiarity with basic programming is advantageous.
Main Responsibilities:
Workshop Organisation: Ensure all work areas are systematically arranged and prepared for use, including the proper storage of equipment and materials.
Health and Safety Compliance: Enforce health and safety protocols and promptly report any concerns to the Head of Department to maintain a secure work environment.
Equipment Maintenance: Regularly inspect and mend machinery and equipment, advising the Head of Department on replacements or external maintenance requirements when necessary.
Departmental Management: Supervise and manage the day-to-day operations, ensuring smooth logistics for materials preparation, storage, ordering, and administrative tasks.
Technical Assistance: Utilise your specialised expertise to help students and staff overcome technical obstacles.
Resource Preparation: Assemble requested materials and resources to support effective teaching and learning.
Collaboration: Collaborate with the teaching team to foster an environment of innovation and creativity, advocating for STEM initiatives across the school.
Annual Planning: Work with the Head of Department to develop an annual maintenance plan.
Supervision: Provide supervision for students as necessary, ensuring a nurturing and secure environment.
Support ad-hoc tasks assigned by Head of Department which is related to departmental / school operations.
Requirements:
Bachelor Degree in engineering related disciplines
Preferably have at least 3 years of experience working as a graduate engineer or in a similar role in a relevant technical field.
Understanding of applied programming, control technologies, and robotics.
Proficient in general ICT skills and computer literacy.
Proficient in spoken and written English, with proficiency in Chinese being highly desirable.
Familiarity and hands-on experience with manufacturing technologies (both hardware and software) in CAD/CAM, including the use of 3D printing software like Cura or similar, knowledge of 3D CAD software such as Autodesk, and safe operation of CNC machines.
Familiarity and hands-on experience with various workshop equipment maintenance.
Willingness to collaborate and act as a resource for faculty members.

Genuine enthusiasm for working with students, faculty, staff, and parents.
Period of Employment: 1 August 2026 - 31 July 2028 (Renewable Contract)
