We’re looking for a Senior Test Automation Engineer to help deliver the next generation of tunnel and traffic management systems for a major Sydney infrastructure project. You’ll play a key role in ensuring software and integrated SCADA systems are reliable, safe, and ready for commissioning.

In this contract role, you’ll design and build automated tests across functional, integration, and performance layers. You’ll work with Python, Behave/Gherkin, Selenium, JMeter, GitLab CI/CD, and OPC UA, collaborating closely with software, SCADA, and system engineering teams. Your work will directly support system validation in a safety-critical environment.

What you’ll do

Develop and maintain automated test suites and pipelines

Implement BDD testing using Behave/Gherkin

Build Python-based test frameworks for integration and performance

Test systems communicating via OPC UA and other industrial protocols

Identify defects, analyse root causes, and support developers

Provide clear test reporting and contribute to continuous improvement

What you bring

Strong experience with Selenium, JMeter, GitLab CI/CD, and Xray

Strong experience in automated testing and test framework development

Proficiency in Python and BDD tools (Behave, Gherkin)

Understanding of SDLC, test methodologies, and complex distributed systems

Ability to work independently in a fast-moving, multi-disciplinary environment
