Job Description

Unifying our customer experience across physical and digital channels, our Digital team build and deliver products where technology meets our customers – web, app, and retail.

As a Software Engineer, you’ll design, develop, enhance, and support solutions that power Ampol’s digital assets and customer-facing technology. You’ll work closely with business users and team members in the TDD team to ensure our solutions are reliable, effective, and meet business needs. You’ll contribute to the continuous improvement of our software engineering practices and collaborate with others to deliver high-quality, maintainable solutions.

You Will Have The Opportunity To

Contribute to the design and development of components for larger solutions

Take responsibility for delivering assigned technical components through to production

Apply technical expertise to help solve problems within the Software Engineering team

Support the development and adoption of coding standards and best practices

Stay up to date with new technologies and industry trends, and share ideas for improving existing solutions

Collaborate with and provide guidance to peers and junior engineers when needed

Participate in the Software Engineering Community of Practice and DevSecOps initiatives to share knowledge and align with organisational goals

Qualifications

What you’ll bring to Z:

Strong software development experience with a focus on back-end integration within enterprise environments

Demonstrated experience with .Net, with exposure to mentoring peers and contributing to best practises

Understanding of integration design and architecture principles, including trade-offs, resiliency and reliability considerations

Experience working with Azure Cloud Services

Well-developed troubleshooting and problem-solving skills, including debugging, performance optimisation and root cause analysis

Ability to communicate technical concepts clearly and collaborate effectively with both technical and non-technical team members

Experience working in Agile software development environments

Familiarity with secure coding practises (e.g. DevSecOps), participation in code reviews, source code management (GitHub) and infrastructure as code tools (e.g. Terraform)

The base salary range for this role is $115k to $130K per annum, plus 15% STI based on company performance, a 5% KiwiSaver employer contribution and health insurance through Southern Cross.
