Requirements The partner is one of the largest retail e-commerce companies in North America.
The team is working with the set of services that are used daily by external users. Though, in scope of the cloud transformation, we aim to increase scalability, improve performance, cost, and security. In order to do this, we are rebuilding the ecosystem: some legacy services will be replaced by the new ones which will be built with a modern approach (k8s, AWS, Kafka).

As a Java Engineer on the Inventory Positioning team, you will be responsible for:
Helping build and improve frameworks to solve business problems.
Writing clean, reliable code and contributing to project design.
Learning from and collaborating with senior engineers on architecture and best practices.
Taking ownership of parts of a project and helping break work into smaller tasks.
Supporting cross-team projects by providing input on design and development.
Helping diagnose and fix performance or security issues.
Assisting in troubleshooting and root cause analysis across systems.
Identifying potential issues in current designs and suggesting improvements.
Following industry standards for secure and reliable software development.
Learning about telemetry solutions and applying them where needed.
Contributing to team standards and documentation.
Solid experience in Java programming (4 years of professional experience).
Familiarity with Java Spring Boot and containerization (Docker/Kubernetes).
Understanding of RESTful APIs and microservices architecture.
Exposure to system design, architecture, scaling, and performance testing.
Experience or interest in cloud technologies (AWS/GCP).
Knowledge of relational and NoSQL databases.
Basic understanding of messaging technologies (Kafka/SQS).
Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines, Terraform, and testing tools.
Strong grasp of computer science fundamentals.
Exposure to test automation (unit, integration, regression).
Awareness of ops tools, logging, and monitoring (New Relic, Splunk).
